To and Fro Singapore-KL | SIA | Lesson Learnt during this trip | 2024
Overall, the flight ticket i got from SIA is based on a limited promotion. As this ticket was booked probably two years ago, I had avoided both the GST raised from 8% and 9% respectively. However there is a catch, i went to SIA at Orchard to enquiry whether we could change the destination or change date. Changing of destination is impossible as mentioned that it is a promotional ticket and should we want to change date, additional charges will be required. Therefore we just have to proceed with it, not that we cannot go, just that we wanted to go to Japan since the rates were good. Well that is set, but nevertheless it is still a fruitful and meaningful trip so as to also provide a good first flight experience for our little one. Thing to note for a short SIA flight is that there is no hot towel, no meals on board two ways. Just a drink and a special booklet for all the little babies on board. So got to expect the expectation that longer distance flight will provide you more stuffs. Singapore Customs is a breeze, except that I did not expect that returning Singaporeans also need to fill in the "White Card" process. 😓From the malaysia custom's side, quite a long queuing is expected even on a weekdays and furthermore we were queuing at the priority counter since we are travelling with a baby. So if you are queuing the regular counter, i think might take one hour or so to clear through. Other than that, one thing that caught me surprised was that even travelling for 5 nights, travellers coming back to Singapore from KL is forbidden to buy duty-free beer or liquor from the airport. Sigh, seems that it is more worthwhile to travel to other countries other than Malaysia in future.
