CNY Eve A.K.A last day of the Lunar New Year of Ox.

CNY Eve also known as the last day of the Lunar New Year of Ox. Welcoming the coming year of the Tiger year tomorrow or tonight after 2359hrs. 

2021 or rather the Lunar New Year of Ox had been an awful year for me. Very challenging both emotionally and physically exhausting even towards the last day of the Lunar New Year.

The death of my important family member had changed me during March 2021 to become a more aggressive person, but also clear off the cloudy vision of how I see things better. Typically there is a true meaning of 2021 Xin Chou Year of the Ox offends Tai Sui Zodiac of the Ox. Out of 35 years, I think 2021 is one of the worst years i ever spent in my life. Work problems, Property Agent problems, Insurance problem, people problems throughout the crazy 2021 which nobody would want to experience. 

Time to knock off soon and will be wiping off all the outstanding stuffs early morning starting from 8am and allowed buffer time for afternoon surprises. Shutting off all my battle workstation [WORK + AmateurCraft Production] by 5pm today. And off to my parents' place for Reunion Dinner where I believed most of the people are doing locally. For those who work throughout these important timing, wish you best of luck and more $$$ to come to you during the coming Lunar New Year ! HUAT AHH !!!

Also done my 12am groceries shopping at NTUC near my place "AFTER WORK at 9.30PM". Anyway back to main topic, I'm glad that there is only handful of consumers at this time and I do not have to rush through crowds just to get my stuffs. Looking forward to a less tiring year and to formulate a better workflow in Lunar New Year 2022. 

Canon PIXMA G6070 Refillable Ink Tank All-In-One Review

Bought this exactly one year ago and I guess its time for me to put in some thoughts about this ink tank printer. The overall design looks great and it fulfilled the functions that I needed. The price from last year till now still remain the same at $449. Typically what this printer can do is scan, print and copy in colours. As it is an ink-tank inkjet, it can print better colour pictures, photos and documents. Got this mainly for its colour printing and being able to print 4R borderless glossy photos.

As it is a ink tank, on paper, it is able to print 7,700 full colour A4 sized documents. So far, I had printed all my lecture notes with colours around 300 pages duplex sides bind into three sets of booklet, documents like interview stuffs, bills, investment articles and documents around 300+ odd pages as well as 400+ 4R photos for my photo albums for old photos. After one year of usage, all my colours are still above 60% mark, black is around 55%. Well in terms of quality, it is good and have no issues so far. Of course, you will need to use glossy papers for better effect. So overall, i think is a good buy. Just afraid that the ink dried out and that will be a problem. I am still printing at least once a week to prevent the ink from drying out.

Bought my Coke in Singapore so peacefully and have lots in stock. Bought it near my house, Sheng Siong and still got chance to win 百贝百贝. Just started to buy two cartons as it is quite heavy.

Bought it for $9.50 for one carton of 24 cans. So one can of Coke is equal to 39.5 cents or just round up to 40 cents per can. For me, i felt that it is already very cheap.

Of course, as compared to Malaysia, there is much cheaper. However, I feel that people don't need to snatch till like that. Oh well =D

Hokkaido Salt Ramen Cup from HarbourFront Don Don Donki

Bought this brand of Hokkaido Salt Ramen Cup from HarbourFront Don Don Donki. Too many brands of similar cup noodles. So far, this cup have lots of ingredients and portion is all right. Abit pricey at around $3.90. As usual, japanese takes a lot of pride to prepare their cup noodles and so far, most of the cup noodles that are produced from Japan is good quality. For a quick meal, definitely better than local cup noodles.

Jia Jia Herbal Tea [New Bottle and Zero Sugar Edition]

Had been drinking this for a month and it is certainly refreshing for this crazy weather. Herbal Tea is known to be sweet, but can help cool your body heat down to prevent headache, Dehydration, etc. Why this is new? Previously, Jia Jia Herbal Tea only offers in "Can form" and it is sweet. Now they offer in bottles size and they have the "Less Sweet" and "Zero Sugar" variant which I felt that the Zero Sugar one is very good while the taste is still there and it bring all the goodness for our body. Certainly go and try it out. I am sure you will like it too ! :)

ROG Strix Arion and Adata SX8200 Pro 512GB NVMe SSD Review

Bought this during June 2020 and used it for almost 1.5 years+ during Singapore Circuit Breaker Lockdown. As part of my job, i usually used the normal 2.5 inch sata hard disk drive to reimage several PCs. Normally it will take me around 20minutes+ to finish the reimaging process. However with the combination of ROG Strix Arion which is a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure together with Adata XPG SX8200 NVMe SSD (512GB) , it actually save more than 20minutes and took only 90 seconds to reimage a PC.

Unfortunately, this costs around $210+ in total at that point of time (June 2020). In 2022, i believed that the price does get abit more affordable. Don't mind about the ROG Phone as I just recently sold it away. The ROG Strix Arion enclosure build is very solid and it comes with a USB A to USB C and USB C to USB C cables. Adata XPG NVMe SSD is also both affordable and reliable. So far I did not face any error or issues transferring files or reimaging of PC. Definitely worth every penny and I hope it will be able to last me for several good years ahead.

Kim Poh Fishhead Steamboat Zi Char Part 1

Went to Yishun Industrial Park that is located beside Canberra Plaza to have dinner. Ordered myself the Lemon Chicken with Rice and my wife ordered the Fried Seafood Glass Noodle. Also ordered the Lettuce & Fish Soup. Basically, both the rice and noodle dishes are decent. The least expectation of Lettuce & Fish Soup actually elevated the standard ! The soup have "Wok Hei" flavour. It just wow my expectation of this dish. Didn't expect it to be so good and the fish meat are quite generous in portion which is why I state this as Part 1. Because I will be planning for another trip back to this place to try their signature item !

Japanese Soy Sauce specifically for Egg

Saw this product from Don Don Donki at HarbourFront. Forgotten the price, think its around $6.80 for 150ml of Soy Sauce goodness for egg. From the picture from the bottle, it shows that this soy sauce is somehow to pour onto the egg on the rice. I can't help, but to get it.

For my friends that can't take alcohol, please take note that this Soy Sauce contains alcohol. So better to read before buying if you are not able to consume alcohol content. So i tried it on my fried egg. Well to be honest, I preferred heavy taste of Soy Sauce on my eggs. This bottle is quite mild, but the taste have a little sweet taste. It is still pleasant and goes ok for your fried eggs, but I preferred local Soy Sauce that have more salty taste. :D

Heartland CheeseBurger Chips

Want to eat CheeseBurger, but do not want to eat the actual CheeseBurger? 😅 Heartland released their so called Thickest of the thick CheeseBurger Potato chips. It is imported to our local supermaket from New Zealand. First thing first, these potato chips are not genetically modified (GM), have no Palm Oil, no Trans fat and no Hydrogenated Fat, unless the real CheeseBurger. 😅 It cost less than $5 and the potato chips can be shared among 2 to 3 people as the portion is quite big. As usual, I always dip all my chips with Mayo. So how does it taste? I felt is normal, however the taste of the chips are almost 90% the same taste as Burger King CheeseBurger taste. 

CocoCane Budget and Good Sugarcane Juice @ Woodlands MRT

One of the cheaper, but also good quality Sugarcane Juice choice to takeaway. They have the option to add Lemon and other stuffs to your Sugarcane juice, but I still prefer to add my own half lemon to the Large portion of their Sugarcane juice. Definitely a good choice to go with your lunch or dinner meals. Do check out their menus in store as they often have discount or bundle package on specific days. They also have several other branches across Singapore. 

Ranting on McDonald Singapore Services in 2022

Decided to order McDelivery on a rainy day, since it is lazy enough for me to get up so early. The correct term is I ordered McDonald via GrabFood Delivery. As the previous McDelivery took place last year, I encountered couple of times that they delivered the wrong order, despite both the eReceipt and their physical receipt is attached, but still providing the wrong orders. That separate incident, i then followed up with their branch manager. Don't want to mention more issue, as some branch manager also having issues..

Going towards 2022, this time is a little different. I ordered McDonald via GrabFood Delivery. The whole experience of the grab delivery was great. However, the food is once again wrong order again. It seems that multiple feedbacks are not solving the issues. Besides Mcdonald scrambled eggs becoming smaller in size, the delivery of wrong orders are always being committed again and again. This time, Hot Milo were given instead of the two cups of Coffee with Milk. There goes my caffeine fix in the rainy morning :/ Well, i give up. Nowadays, i will just order physically myself and making sure of the orders. Caught a couple of time on-site while takeaways, sigh.

I believed most of us have at least downloaded Starbucks Mobile App which you can used to check your balances, look out for best deals like above and also transact it at the physical store. I also able to offset 50% for my first drink on Mobile order and paid using the remaining credits on my card. The entire process is simple and the best part is you can take your own sweet time to slowly customized your preferred Starbuck drink even with 10 expresso shot in your drink is possible. But please don't do that. You will get caffeine overdose for drinking 10 expresso shots in one single cup LOL. I normally ordered Iced Latte with Extra shot of Expresso and it is able to keep you fresh for the day or night.

OCBC Phishing Scam - Come on lar, it is everyone responsibility leh !

Just to add some comments to this, since it is so hot this few days. Many OCBC customers had fallen prey to the scammers. According to the Police, at least S$8.5 million in total were reported lost. Even me myself had received the SMS by the scammers. I do not have an active bank account with OCBC, but used to have it several years back. So i am sure that I do not have bank account with OCBC. So I not sure whether my old personal data probably got into the hands of those scammers as well. Because my contact number had not been changed for the past 2 decades, so i think they tried their luck. Not sure about those who fallen prey, but for goodness sake, the scamming message was a lousy one and so OBVIOUS. I felt that we cannot depend solely from the bank. As a consumer, you need to wake up and protect yourself as well ! Everyone is responsible for this. I felt that OCBC is great enough to refund fully to some customers already. Well done to them. But for the customers, please wake up lar. Everyday we all received scam calls, scam emails, scam SMS and even scam WHATSAPP messages. I immediately report and FK all of them. Nowadays scammers seldom call me, because I have ways to scare the hell out of them. I don't feel sorry for the scammers that got heart attack out from me :P

Royal Flush (Selera Rasa Nasi Lemak) [Number 1 in SG]

Who doesn't expect that the number 1 Nasi Lemak is in a Hawker Centre ! It sure looks like a simple plate, but the overall taste really meet the standard. Do expect long queues when you are there. 

Just a summary. Sultan of Brunei always order it for breakfast whenever he visits Singapore. Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong served it to Indonesian President Joko Widodo at the Istana with the same. And the rest is history.

So I ordered myself the Royal Flush from Selera Rasa Nasi Lemak which is located at Adam Road Food Centre. I got to say honestly, it really is the best quality for its price. Also I got my an expert taster who is very picky to try it. She also said that this is the best Nasi Lemak she tasted so far. Wow, i'm impressed as the expert taster always mentioned that SG Nasi Lemak is nowhere Malaysia standard, but she finally said that this is one of the best !

Marina Bay Sands Food Court Cai Fan :D

Just to recap before I talk about the above Cai Fan, there was a post on 24 December 2021 or you can visit my second most expensive encounter here. So as mentioned in my last year post, I managed to dig out the most expensive Cai Fan at Marina Bay Sands which i also eaten just before I went to collect my first iPhone 12 on the newly opened Marina Bay Sands Apple Store. 

So I had taken 1st item - Fried Chicken Thigh, 2nd item - chilli kang kong and 3rd item - Hotdog with fishballs. It is considered as 3 items and cost me $16.50. Many asked me last year why ate this where i can have a meal at a restaurant. The reason is my booking collection was 8pm and I rushed down to MBS after work and left with about 45 minutes to eat. Seeing so many places was packed with people. I just wanted to grab something easy and fast to eat. However to be frank, the chicken thigh really had lots of meat and it is delicious. The rest was normal. Think I took a bad shot with my Oppo 10x Zoom then as the plate was a big one. Actually I personally don't mind if the Cai Fan is expensive, more importantly the quality of the ingredient must be good and that matters the most !

KFC Original Recipe New Riser & Egg @ Woodlands North Plaza

Actually it had been out for some months back, but it is not a permanent menu and its available for a limited period. As usual for FastFood, the promotional marketing had done a brilliant work. So i came to try this early in the morning. Its expected that the patty is the same original patty or chicken taste. Its abit dry when and the bun is quite hard as well. Not the soft type. I hope that it is a branch inconsistency issue rather than a islandwide taste. At this price, I think I would still stick to my regular Mcdonald Sausage Mcmuffin. Apparently KFC breakfast is not really good, but can see along the years, they are improving. Hope they will improve on further.

Keppel Electric Renewal | Electricity prices have gone up in 2022.

OMG certainly not a good time to renew contract. The new offer rate is so high. My previous plan which was my second renewal (1 year plan) was based on $0.1745 per kWh with GST which is ending on 13 February 2022. The first Keppel Electric plan (2 years plan) i signed three years ago was $0.1798 per kWh with GST.

But now the electricity went up so much to $0.2580 per kWh with GST. Gosh, I not sure whether I should jump to other electric service provider, but it seems that the others went up just as well for now. My monthly average is around 400 kWh. A simple calculation can be seen how much extra in dollars:

Old Plan Payment: 400 kWh x $0.1745 = $69.80
New Plan Payment if i sign up: 400 kWh x $0.2580 = $103.20

!@#$%^& Gosh, a whooping $33.40 extra to pay out for electricity. Can't imagine if GST is also increased in the near future. If water and rubbish prices going up, I think everyone expenses are going to increase significantly. Everything going up except our salary :/

For those who still sticking with SP Group, are already paying $0.2722 per kWh... Guess I shall go with 24 months plan with $0.2580 per kWh. Please do make a habit to track all your utilities expenses and taxes. All these money may be insignificant with you, but its crazy in the long run.

Chef Kin HK Wanton Noodle @ 632 Yishun Street 61

Fancy for a simple, budget and yet high quality Wanton Noodles? Try Chef Kin Authentic HK Wanton Noodle nearby Wisteria Mall, at one of the coffee shop. At this point of writing, there are two other new locations namely Blk 59 New Upper Changi Road and Blk 107 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 4. I can only say for the Yishun branch, the coffee shop is very small and many seats are often occupied by people who finished their meals and yet still sitting there and not leave ! At my visit, experienced one of the person that had finished the drink and food, but still do not want to leave. The cleaner even asked to clear their empty plates, but they insist not to clear and said still not finish even there is no more food and drink *Facepalm. I had the picture of the idiotic person, but does not wish to shame him however. Sorry for the ranting and let's stick back to the main topic.

No choice, but to order takeaways and grab my way home for my lunch. I ordered dry wanton noodles, dry dumpling noodles and fried wantons. I got to say the quality is definitely a 9/10. Quantity is 6/10, reason being, for takeway orders, there are no soup. Wished i am able to eat there and tried the soup. Definitely I will go there again at a non-peak period.

Let a true blue Canberra Crescent Resident unlocked the truth to this. The affected block is the one beside Canberra Plaza. It was rectified and the new appointed Public Waste Collector had released their Press Release to notify all Canberra Residents of this viral issue. Its just an operational issue as they had just taken over. We all knows when someone leaves, they leave the shit for the next contractor to take over the shit. So such things are common and often taken for granted. Just let them iron out the issue and "take this to the grave"... Press Release as pasted in the lift in Canberra Neighbourhood. Life still carry on..

Chaoyuan gourmet 潮源面家 at Ang Mo Kio

Budget bowl of noodles at S11 Ang Mo Kio Coffee Shop. Special mention is on the fishball which is good and minced meat in the bowl of soup. Noodles are ok. There are several options to chose from other than the noodles and you will be able to choose different ingredients to cook in your bowl of soup. My order is based on the most basic one with no add-on. Good option if you want a quick meal as they prepare fast almost like a fast food chain or sometimes faster :D

King Of Fried Rice at Wisteria Mall

As King of Fried Rice had expanded to a lot of places in Singapore, it is now easily accessible to places where I can enjoy at a nearby area. At this moment, they are still expanding, so do check out in their website for more fried rice goodness at other locations. So while I was scouting for some building, I happened to be nearby Wisteria Mall. So I decided to give another try at King of Fried Rice at Wisteria Mall.

I had ordered one Prawn Egg Fried Rice and Pork Cutlet Egg Fried Rice. Well, i guess i do not have to describe much but it was both good at 8/10. The chilli goes well with the rice too. The only downside is the price and quantity, whereas the rest is history :D

My Samsung Top Loader Washing Machine of 5 years+ reaches end of life...

Bought at around $1299 5 years ago when it is once one of the flagship highest capacity of 16KG Top Loader Washing Machine from Samsung. My typical mindset of a washing machine lifecycle was 10 years. However, I spoke to most washing machine professionals and they all said, normally washing machine hit a 5 years life is great enough. So no choice, have to get the washing machine's doctor down yesterday to check and diagnose.

Indeed the suspension is faulty now and require to change. Cost is around $280+ if I want to repair and parts will take weeks or months to order for replacement. Hence, my decision is not to proceed with the repair and will buy a new one :( Think I learnt that Washing machine doesn't really need to get a very expensive one. Sigh...

Break today ! The first highest Toto New Year Draw in 2022 !

As the title goes, today is the day where one, two or multiple people will become a Millionaire tonight. Last Draw of 2021, i managed to make myself $140. New Year 2022 first normal draw, I managed to breakeven and earned $0.30. I had set up one big one on 04 January 2022, 06 January 2022 and today I'm going to get one more. Spending the wonderful night at my workplace. Praying very hard that Singapore Pool, please let me be the one. I will assure that I will put the money to greater use ! 😝

Original Coco Nutnut drink at Northpoint City

Ordered this Coco Nutnut drink or typically the Coconut drink from Coco Nutnut from GrabFood to deliver to my place. I would say that this is very much similar as compared to Mr Coconut's Coconut Shake. Although Mr Coconut's Coconut Shake is the best in my opinion, this can filled in the second place of all coconut stall. The coconut flavors is quite rich and will satisfy your taste buds. For Grabfood services, it is actually quite hard to get orders from Mr Coconut, thats why ordering the drink from Coco Nutnut is much easier than Mr Coconut via Grabfood. 

Paradise Classic at Sentosa

Went to Sentosa to spend a minimum $30 to get access to two entry tickets for an exclusive event at Sentosa. So we chance upon this restaurant as they are pretty popular with their prawn dishes and price is quite affordable for classic dishes.

We ordered the Big Prawn Thick Vermicelli Soup and Prawn-infused Ebiko Prawn Fried Rice. Both at $13.90 each for one person portion. We also ordered the Ceylon Can drink as there is 1 for 1 offer.

As taken out the Big Prawns from the Big Prawn Thick Vermicelli Soup, the prawns are indeed big and have lots of flesh. Thick Vermicelli Soup have the rich prawn broth taste. I want to personally applaud for the Prawn-infused Ebiko Prawn Fried Rice. It is indeed the best dish i can say for their fried rice. The word "Prawn-infused" as mentioned in their menu is the right indication that the whole fried rice or rather every spoonful of this dish is fully INFUSED in their prawn flavor. The number of prawns in this dish is also very generous for this price. Really deserve trying their fried rice !

Creative Pebble Plus Review After 2 years of daily use

Used this Creative Pebble Plus for two years now and I got to say that it is a decent PC speakers with Subwoofer. The bass was good when I placed the subwoofer on the floor. It is very loud and have good clarity even when I blasted the sound. Having Zoom conference, watching youtube and editing video had been pleasant as well. So one year of usage, I got my wife to buy the same Creative Pebble Plus for her Desktop PC as well. It is affordable and worth using for. Let's hope it can last me to next milestone which is the 5th year mark. As for the Sound Blaster, it was an impulsive purchase which I have no clear use for it. As for my wired headphones, the difference of hooking onto the PC audio and through this USB HD Audio & Headphone Amp, not much difference in fact. For my phone, i usually uses my Apple AirPod Pro wirelessly without the need of this too. So wasted some money not utilizing it. 

[2022] Happy Birthday to myself xD | Appreciation to my family and Wife :D

Thank you to my wife for the simple birthday cake. I personally don't need fancy cakes, but I felt that it is just a simple process to keep count or celebrate the limited number of years in the world we are living in. I just requested for a Coffee theme that give me the extra energy to work on job number 2 and job number 3. Time passes so fast that i felt that procrastination had cost me 25 years of my life :S

Thanks my Wife for the advance birthday gift - iPhone 13 Pro Max when it launched earlier last year. Wanted to convert this phone as my primary phone, but unfortunately unable to salvage the whatsapp backup. Hence to use this phone as my secondary phone for my job number 2 and job number 3 :)

Thank to my wife for the birthday treat @ Tonkatsu Ma Maison at Mandarin Gallery. It is an advance treat, because unfortunately, i am working on my actual "Bird Day". This is also the first meal of the first day in 2022. So i ordered myself a 250 gram of Jumbo Rosu Katsu Set which is also Deep-Fried Jumbo Pork Loin Set at $29.80++ with selection of their Multigrain Rice. To be honest, these are perfect ! I underestimated the portion and it is well enough for myself, because I ordered additional side dishes as well. For this set, it was almost perfect, but I definitely gave it a 9.5/10 which is enough to top off my list.

My wife ordered the Ebi & Hire Set also known as Pork Fillet & Prawns Set at $29.80++. Sorry for the poor shot, but the prawns are really long seriously. Also to add on that the cabbage is free-flow. Tried the prawns, it is definitely worth every single cent for the big prawns. Well marinated and cooked. As for the sauce, they had tar-tar sauce, salt and two different sauces for the Tonkatsu, Prawns and Fillet. The Miso soup is also worth mentioning, it is rich in both seafood and Miso goodness !

So I also ordered Deep Fried Oyster and Cheese Menchi-Katsu (some minced chicken). Two Radish and i think Japanese Rice Tea was served. To end the wonderful meal, dessert was some sweet almond jelly which was nice and not very sweet. Overall Damage is $80.27, but its worth it. Its crowded too when I leave the place, not sure is it always like this or perhaps its only on 1st January 2022 :)

Finally got Robert Kiyosaki book from Kinokuniya

Actually I had been spending probably around 5000+ hours from all his youtube channel. All his talk show, podcasts and interview. Without reading, more or less already absorbed his theory and it really make a lot of sense. His lessons can be applied in many parts of the world, except that Singapore really came out with cooling measure to curb or rather control residents and foreigners from doing it way too fast. Its a good book that is recommended for the younger generations to work on this.

First of all, happy new year to all my readers ! Why this picture? It is a piece of history of the place I am borned into this world in this house 13,138 days ago. It had been the past and everyone of us have our own history in our life. We are currently living in the present and it is now 2022. From today till 31 December 2022, we have a brand new 365 days to work towards our goal and for our future. Hoping to seek a very much better year this year as 2021 was a horrible year for me. Carrying the weight of a lost love one forward to resume being positive this coming year. Now to put aside all negative and unhappy and to convert this energy to a better aspiration the next 365 days.
