We ordered Lotus Root Soup with Peanut and Ginseng Herbal Chicken Soup. I took white rice and my wife have the Pumpkin Rice. Not sure whether today's Ginseng Herbal Chicken soup seems abit too heavy in taste, but still ok. I usually ordered the Lotus Root Soup and refilled with another full pot. =)

Just another simple dinner after work, however surprisingly we did not refill any of our soup. Probably we had late lunch. Their Half Crispy Spring Chicken is quite good also. Definitely a good place to visit on a wet rainy day.

Hajime Tonkatsu & Ramen again :/

Back to Thomson Plaza again. This time to utilize the free $5 M Mall Voucher. We ordered simple lunch, one Pork Loin and one Miso Ramen. The Miso Ramen was decent. A simple and good bowl to fill your stomach. 

Previously I ordered the Premium Pork Loin which the fats were very rich and delicious. This time, the only difference is lesser fats. In fact i think is good for those who prefer less fats for their tonkatsu. But of course everyone's preference are different. For me, this is ok, but of course I preferred the premium Pork Loin version. Rice and Cabbage is free flow, so i asked for additional bowl of rice. I also asked for additional "Wasabi", but turns out it is actually mustard. I don't know what type of mustard they use, but it sure is good !

However, I have yet to try its Serangoon Gardens outlet. Seems that Serangoon Garden one is their very first and main branch. 
 

New collection to my Coffee Set ~ New Milk Pitcher with temperature indicator

 

Yeah, I had been relying on one and only Milk Pitcher which is only 200ml capacity. Unable to froth enough milk for my big cup :D

Had been searching for a larger one, hence ordered and got a 450ml one. Added the temperature sensor option so i do not need to get a separate thermometer to monitor the temperature while the milk frothing process. (Not that I used one anyway, since I had been monitoring the temperature using my sense of touch.)

Ok received and above is the actual product where I ordered online via Shopee from Coffee Hobbyist. Pretty solid and i particularly love the weight. Handling should be fine. Tried to froth the milk and I love the experience. Definitely recommended getting it.

Happy 9th Year Wedding Anniversary To My Wife And Me :P

We only decided to come here one month ago. But 2 weeks before we came here, we tried to book for a table, but was shocked that it was almost full for most weekends and even weekdays ! So fortunately, we found a last slot 2.30pm on a weekend. The last order for lunch is actually 2.30pm. Hence we will need to start ordering upon getting in.

However, we were "escorted" in to a small table like a lounge area. Initially we thought that we are going to have our lunch here at the lounge area. The waitress only provided us online menu to order. So we discussed on the set to choose from.

5 mins later, the waitress brought us into the main eating area with our big round table that is enough for 5 people. The dining area was massive and mesmerizing. It was full time even when we went in around 2.40pm. We quickly went on to place our order.

Koma [https://komasingapore.com/] is a Japanese cuisine restaurant located at Marina Bay Sands. You can find their menu or book a table from their website above. 

So in summary, we ordered two sets of 3-Course meals + 1 ala-carte main + 1 pot of "Koma Teriyaki" tea. The 3-Course meals can be customized or even top up for more premium food items. 

As we already pre-booked a table and indicate the event as our Wedding Anniversary, we are presented with the big plate of desserts with "Happy Anniversary" wishing. I got to deny the fact where many people said that the food is just presentable and people go there just for the ambience, but i beg to differ. The food was great and so far the rating I gave for the food we ordered is above 7/10. The only item i felt not so good is the Spicy Tofu, but still acceptable. The rest is definitely worth it and our overall damage of this meal is $213.04. But we certainly recommend to come here and try it for yourself. 

2nd Visit again at Genki Sushi Northpoint :S

Went back to Genki Sushi again. This time, we ordered other stuffs.

First thing first, I still prefer Hot Green Tea with Tea Bag. Too bad for Genki Sushi, green tea is chargeable :( As usual, Seared Alaebi with Garlic Butter still not really nice, but its free anyway so just eat. The Chicken Cheese Burger looks interesting, but when the real plate came to me, i can feel the weird combination of burger patty with rice. Really doesn't go well together, so i ate separately T_T

As for the rest, its ok. Salmon as usual, is the best regardless of raw or aburi :)

Ok why am I back to Genki Sushi again within such a short timeframe? Because my wife is aiming to get her membership to upgrade to Genki Club. So no choice gotta eat again :/

Fortunately this time, it takes only 8 minutes for us to get a table which is quite fast.

Basically why is this song on the first list of my Music list on the right. Because I had experienced the death of a loved one this year, 2021. Life is unreplaceable, so do treasure the people around you. This song is special in a way as when you are happy, you like the song. When you are sad, you will understand the lyrics. The more you dig about the hidden message about this song, the more you will find more amazing discoveries. As I just attached Youtube above, look for the comments. Many people are leaded to this song from one TikTok mystery that explain deeper meaning. Meanwhile enjoy this song :)

“Little Talks” is an emotionally provocative song, regardless of how the lyrics may speak to you. At the least, the song is about love and loss and the pain that loss can inflict. It’s open to numerous interpretations; as all works of art should be.

Much of the song relates to the state of turmoil that the death of a loved one can bring. The song plays out as a conversation, though when looking through the interpretive lens that includes the person who recently died, it seems that we’re inside the head of the widowed woman. Screams of “Hey!” are peppered throughout the lyrics, perhaps the “ghost” of her husband reaching out, as evidenced in the chorus:

We really can’t tell if the conversation is real. Perhaps it occurred before the man died, or it’s all happening in the woman’s head. There are even times when the still-living have “post-bereavement hallucinations,” sensing the presence of their loved one or engaging in conversation.

Lyrics later in the song point more directly to the death of the husband.

Here it is more obvious that the woman is internalizing her grief, talking to her deceased husband. She was there to see him go, and is disturbed that they’re no longer together. There’s nothing that she can do to change things. He’s gone. But they will “meet again soon.”

“Little Talks” is a musically uplifting song despite its sometimes morose lyrics. The instrumentation is great, with the trumpet really dominating the chorus. When listened to it with the idea that it’s about a woman whose husband has died, it is an emotional journey through the mind of the bereaved.

[%Arabica] Oh Well, not the kind of result i'm expecting

 

The famous Kyoto coffee chain % Arabica is finally opening their highly-anticipated first Singapore outlet on June 28, 2019. Being their first outlet, they have opened a total of four outlets in tiny red dot at this time of writing. Beside the first Singapore Outlet located at Arab Street, the other outlets are Changi Airport Jewel, Chip Bee Gardens and Somerset 313.

Today I tried their Spanish Iced Latte. I guess i had set my expectation too high. The cafe’s bestselling signature drinks, like its Cafe Latte and Matcha Latte. I didn't tried their signature drink, but today's Spanish Iced Latte is quite mild taste. For $9, I felt that probably their consistency is not there. Probably the staff handling the drinks is simply not putting in enough effort. Kinda disappointed the result of this latte carrying the heavyweight coffee branding. Probably Coffee Smith or Starbucks taste better. Sigh.

Because of this, I think i might tried at their main branch for their signature coffee, otherwise this is gotta be out of my list soon... 

SanDisk iXpand Flash Drive Luxe 128GB

I'm in the midst of considering getting Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark III which is retailing for around $879. The decision made to give my final attempt to Samsung for their Samsung S21 Ultra 256GB was truly regrettable due to their poor camera system. However, despite the fact that I still do not need very good image production, I will rely on my good trusty iPhone 12.
 

Bought this ultimately for the reason why i need to transfer image and video contents from my iPhone 12 and PC for a daily basis. Apparently, I will require only 64GB of flash drive space, but because the price difference between the 64GB and 128GB is $24, so I decided to get this 128GB instead.

Why iXpand Flash Drive Luxe? There are many type of flash drive in the market. This is a specialized flash drive solely for transferring of photo and video contents between Windows PC and iPhone device vice-versa. Yeah it costs abit on the high end, but it really solve my problem of using the cloud or even iTUNES. Cloud solution, i need to pay everytime i transfer large amount of files. For iTunes, I am very frustrated with this service. The constant failure rate of transferring files is very annoying. Hence I decided to invest on this piece of hardware. Another advantage is the lightning connector to my iPhone 12 and USB Type-C 3.1 directly to my Lenovo X395. It fully utilizing the full transfer rate.

Oh bummer, the only issue now is I'm unable to plug in the flash drive to my iphone 12 due to my armor casing T_T Exploring any extender to resolve this issue.

Happy Mid Autumn Festival 2021

Apparently yesterday is 21 Sep 2021, so happy belated Mid Autumn festival to all !

Every Mid Autumn festival, my default activity is to eat Mooncake and appreciating how round the moon is :)

I usually buy my mooncakes from Johor Bahru, but since no travelling. Its perfectly all right. Because Singapore have it and have many variant. However this year, I tried not to eat snowskin Mooncakes as it is very sweet. Age is catching up, so i have to be conscious on my own health. So no matter what, I will still get the most traditional Mooncake to eat. Since I only going to eat one mooncake, i might as well get the 4 Salted Egg Yolk version :P Got scolded by my wife for saying to eat healthy, but eventually still get the most yolk one. Okay lar, not as if I am going to eat the whole thing at one go. Probably eat parts of it and split it into days. So once again, happy mooncake festival to all :D

Don Don Donki's Devil Onigiri

 Bought Devil Onigiri from Don Don Donki at Suntec City. Short Microwave and made hot the Devil Onigiri for a light dinner.

Coupled with my self brewed Cappuccino and Flat White. Its a fast job, sorry man. But the taste is still there. For the devil Onigiri, its not spicy and not even a slight spice actually. It taste really plain, but actually there is flavor in it, but have to bite and taste slowly. Well one thing for sure, it is not addictive as market on their wrapper. But is decent for a quick meal. It cost $2.20.

[ShackBurger] Best Burger in Singapore !!!

The first Shake Shack Singapore Outlet was opened at Changi Airport Jewel on 17 April 2019. I knew that there were too many people every day and wouldn't want to queue for so long.

Fast Forward till today at the time of writing, Shake Shack had expanded to 7 outlet in our small little red dot :) 

These are the locations, Jewel Changi, 89 Neil Road, Orchard Road, Suntec City, Vivocity, Great World City and the latest outlet at Garden By The Bay. With this said, it is much more comfortable to dine in without long queue now, which is the best experience.

I like how the way they have the menu on their website so that we can decide what to order upon or even before arriving at the restaurant. I have not try to order their milkshake as I heard that it is very sweet. So I will try it after my next doctor's appointment. I am trying to cut down on sugar intake.

My usual tradition when visiting for the first time, I would always order the best seller. In this case, the ShackBurger. I need a fries to go with, so I ordered Roasted Garlic Fries.

I got two chilli sauce and one Yellow Mustard to go with the fries and burger respectively. For their beef, they are known to 100% all-natural Angus beef. No hormones and no antibiotics. 

This is a first burger I ever eaten where I gave a full mark rating 10/10. I proclaim it as the best burger anyone can eat in Singapore. This is just shocking. This is definitely not a planned trip. I was just in the area where I have not much appetite to eat anything. The only thing that made me try this was because I was collecting my race pack and passes by. There was literally no queue and was finding somewhere to have a quick lunch before i head home. This ShackBurger changes my mood and I can't stop eating ! The double meat was very tender and juicy ! Everything include the lettuce, tomato and cheese goes very well with the whole setup. The Double ShackBurger costs $12.70. I really can't wait to go back again if my schedule allows :(

Certainly recommended for those who have not tried ShakeShack yet. Please go and try this ShackBurger. Sorry, I forgot about the Roasted Garlic Fries :P I felt that the Garlic Fries is normal. So probably you can try other sides.

Scrambled Egg Burger with Chicken and McCafe Flat White

 

Having breakfast at McDonald Canberra as one of their first customer as they just opened at 7am. Think their scrambled egg burger released few times already. I really do not like them to use this burger bun and would preferred the same bun used for their Sausage McMuffin. I like their scrambled Eggs. But wrong combination, so their regular menu for Sausage McMuffin with Egg still is the overall best for breakfast.

Okay another item i want to focus on is their McCafe Flat White. I ordered the biggest size for their Flat White and it actually meets my expectation. It deserved the price paid for this flat white. So far, i tried their Cappuccino is average, but their flat white was made well. I hope they can be consistent even at other outlet with different barista. But the flat white i had today totally blow my mind :) Hope to drink more good coffee in future !

Lower Peirce Reservoir Walk

 

After a simple breakfast across the road at Sembawang Hill Hawker Centre, it take about 10 to 15 minutes walk to Lower Peirce Reservoir. Saw many people exercising and even having a picnic there. If you love the nature, its a good place to unwind through the weekend. The water is very calm and you will be able to see the big open sky above you. Clouds are moving fast. Some parts are not allowed for fishing, but saw at some area, fishing is allowed and people are there fishing. As it is open sky and happened that when I was there, it was a very sunny day, the hot sun is burning through my skin. So remember to bring some sun protection lotion to protect yourself. I used an umbrella to shield from the sun.

The Lower Peirce Reservoir (Chinese: 贝雅士蓄水池下段 Malay: Takungan Air Lower Peirce) is one of the oldest reservoirs in Singapore. It is located near MacRitchie Reservoir and Upper Peirce Reservoir. Previously known as Kallang River Reservoir or Peirce Reservoir, it was renamed Lower Peirce Reservoir after the creation of Upper Peirce Reservoir. It has a surface area of 6 hectares and the surrounding forest contains many trees that are over 100 years old. There is a Lower Peirce Trail, which is a 900-metre boardwalk that takes visitors through a mature secondary forest. The reservoir is the source of the Kallang River, the longest river in Singapore.

Trying out Soy as replacement for my Coffee Brewing

 

Had been spending some time trying out different brands of milk products to brew my own Cappuccino, Cafe Latte, and Flat White. Seeing café offering Soy coffee and decided to give it a try.

Found this at Cold Storage and Pacific Foods have many other products, but this Barista Series is interesting. At least you have a ease of mind that this product will certainly work well together with Coffee. It turns out to be nice. The Soy flavor do make a difference in the overall taste of the Brewed Coffee. But of course, milk also gave a good overall taste. But Soy can be a good alternative if one had drank too much milk :D 

Question: So Cow's milk is better or Soy is better?
Answer: Soy is a good source of low-fat and plant-based protein. It is cholesterol-free, has less saturated fat than cow’s milk and lowers the LDL in the body. Cow’s milk, on the other hand, has more calcium than natural soy.

Martinelli's Apple Juice

 

Saw this from one of the shelf in Cold Storage. Its a pasteurized 100% apple juice from U.S. grown fresh apples. What actually attract me is the bottle. Its shape like an Apple. Found that actually one of the TikTok went viral because of how this bottle is shaped like an Apple. Nevertheless, as the old saying goes, an apple a day keeps the doctor away. In fact, I do not drink or eat apple everyday though.

There are many apple drink products, but let's get back to this. This is indeed pure apple juice the moment you sip the liquid into your mouth. Not that bad. There is no sugar added, however, coming from apple, there is definitely sugar content. So of course drink in moderation. But its refreshing and I feel its best to consume especially after a workout. Recommend anyone to give it a try and probably stock some up into your fridge. :)

Razer Blackwidow Green Switch Review

Used this new keyboard for the past two months. This is to replace my good old ARMAGGEDDON AK-666 which I used it for 1.4 years. Ordered from Amazon at a good discount and registered my warranty with Razer on the first day. This is the very first edition of Razer Blackwidow series and its hugely sufficient for everyday usage.

Only small problem is that the Razer software crashed with my Wallpaper Engine on my PC, which after rectification, it is working fine. So far, I used it for gaming, it is a responsive keyboard and really good for typing, especially for my blogging works. The immediate advantage was that it resolve the double entry problem i had with my old keyboard. 

Sukiya @ Novena Square 2

 
For Sukiya, many known for Suki-Ya Hotpot, but this is Sukiya, first restaurant that opened in Yokohama, Japan in 1982. And the first outlet was opened at Suntec City. Didn't really tried at the first outlet in Singapore. But I happened to pass by their new and second outlet at Novena Square 2. So might as well dropped in to try. Apparently, they have many other dishes and not limited to their Beef dishes.

So I ordered these from their menu. Basically they are famous for their beef Gyudon, hence when i tried the chicken one where my wife order, it was only ok. 

I ordered the Gyudon standard size. It was good ! The beef meat was tender and well marinated with their sauce. It certainly goes well with the rice and I would highly recommend for anyone to try their Gyudon. The standard is well above average. Price is also affordable. Its great that they do offer many different sizes in terms of rice and meat preference. 

For the drink, i saw many good options, but eventually chose the Strawberry Milk. Milk is using Hokkaido Milk. For $4.20, i think is worth it. Taste balance and you can taste both the strawberry and rich Hokkaido milk. Really bring back the memories of me drinking hokkaido milk every day when I was in Hokkaido.

Overall damage is $20.50 for two people dining :)

Huggs Coffee @ Thomson Plaza

 Afternoon Coffee to relax for the weekend. Trying for the first time at this cafe. 

My wife ordered Chill drinking Chocolate from their Chocolate menu and i ordered their Latte Gula from their Specialty Menu. Not a fan of chocolate drinks, but ok la, i tried is thick chocolate. Not much comments.

Ok what i order is interesting. Basically, the latte Gula is double shot espresso with gula melaka. I opt for ice so as to dilute abit from the double shot expresso. So far, it taste balanced and able to taste every element in the drink.

Fishball Minced Pork Noodle [Bak Chou Mee] @ Sembawang Hill Hawker Centre

 

Came here early in the morning to have a simple bowl of bak chou mee. There are long queue at other stalls. So i have to settle on a shorter queue stall. Surprisingly, it was not bad. Normally i won't even drink the soup and rather uses the soup as a form of "sanitizing" my eating utensils.

But of course the soup was flavourful. Ingredients are tender as it is not under or overcooked. At $4.50, i feel is ok for a decent bowl of bak chou mee. This stall far surpass most food court and kopitiam standard. Certainly worth eating if you are driving around this area. This store is located beside the sugarcane stall, understand there is many sugarcane store, but definitely beside one of the sugarcane selling bak chou mee, thats the one :)

Almost forgot, the egg on my spoon is not included as my wife passed me the egg from another dish. :D

Old Chang Kee - Blue Pea Nasi Lemak with Chicken Wing Bento Meal

 

To be frank, this is one of Old Chang Kee greatest valued Nasi Lemak. Of course this is a very basic dish, but for $5. You have blue Pea Nasi Lemak rice, eggs, ikan bilis, peanuts, cucumber, little veget there and chicken wing. The only one issue is... It is limited, and tend to finish upon placing these bento tray out. I only able to get this because I went there early specially to buy it. Best part of getting bento from Old Chang Kee is that they have many other varieties of sides you can get to add on. In this case, I bought additional chicken wings to supplement my wonderful lunch ! :)

Yay ! SCA finally sent me my Certification !

 

Finally I am officially certified as a Barista !

To attain or get certified, seems that we need to enrol in a school for a course so that they can assess our practical skills as well as registering us for the SCA theory examination. Well I took this course as a coffee enthusiast. To better improve my skills for brewing my own Coffee in the best possible way. Learning to appreciate coffee better and enjoy :P

Probably considering to open my own cafe. Who knows? :)

Playing this for a month now and I finally picked up the skill as a Barista

 

Had been using these as a basic setup and brewed my own Coffee at the comfort of my home. Enjoying every brew of Specialty Coffee with different brands of Coffee Beans as well as Milk Products. The commerical Starbucks Coffee Beans definitely able to replicate the actual drinks selling from Starbucks Store. Best of all, it costs a lot lesser if we tend to drink about two cups daily.

I had been trying Coffee at several cafe and will continue to do it, because constant learning and brewing really help to improve in producing a better coffee everyday. 

Apparently, I had completed the practical and theory course last month. Above is just the certificate of completion of the practical course. Taken the World SCA-Certified Barista examination 2 weeks ago and passed it. Currently waiting for my certification to be available and that can be used for resume for a Barista job. However, I am picking it up to enhance my brewing skills so that I hope that I can start up my own cosy cafe one fine day. Currently is not a good time to start one. But I do hope for an opportunity to come by. 

Devil Chicken @ Northpoint

 

Standing out from the crowd with 25mm of extraordinarily thick chicken breast meat that is of unparalleled juiciness, the fried chicken cutlet created by Devil Chicken has a thin yet amazingly crispy outer layer to complement the succulent meat. 

I bought this from Northpoint. I do love the fries as it is thick and have the right amount of sea salt in it. As for the chicken, I opt for very spicy. Mmm, however to me, i feel the very spicy is just right only. Definitely doesn't taste very spicy, but the taste is there and the amount of meat is generous. I ordered this as a set. I think its around $11. Enough as a night snack for two people.

Ramen Nagi @ Suntec City

 

Wah, this place is surely hard to find. But still findable :D Anyway, they have 4 main dish to start with. 

This is their snack gyoza and they do not serve this dish for takeaways. So you have to try this dish here. Its actually very mini, that is why they call it snack gyoza. Probably to be served as a appetizer. Not bad, but quite small portion.

I ordered Red King for myself. From their menu, this is a striking blend of garlic, chilli oil and cayenne pepper in a velvety broth; topped by a tempting ball of miso-infused minced pork and special Nagi spices with tender chashu. Of course I like my own bowl of spicy noodles. It was great and i finished up everything.

My wife ordered the Original Butao King. From their menu, this is the award-winning tonkotsu pork-broth prepared in the traditional method. Mouth-wateringly rich, fresh and aromatic; special handcrafted noodles and classic Nagi pork chashu. Its one of its best seller. Yeah decent bowl and I helped my wife finished up the broth as well :P

Overall, this place truly serves good Ramen and its recommended for those who like heavy taste :)

Too much Coffee?

A good read about Coffee drinking for Singaporean Youth. Well moderation is key to most of the food and beverage we consumed. Exercise and moderate intake of food and drink is key to a healthy lifestyle. During our stressful times, coffee do help us tide through difficult time. However, it is way better than alcohol lar. So just manage our intake and we will be fine. :)

Malaysian Nasi Lemak - Owner said is one of the best?

Seeing one of the Youtuber's live stream and one of the owner asked the Youtuber to try this Malaysian Nasi Lemak. He said that it is one of the best Nasi Lemak in Singapore. 

Haha the only way to "CONFIRM" is to personally go down to try.  The store is called UpTown Malaysian Nasi Lemak and is located at 121, Telok Ayer Street #01-01, Stall #7 Singapore 068590. Well place wise is in a mini kopitiam with few other stalls. I came before the weekday lunch time, hence there were many available seats. 

$7.50 is the price I paid for the above plate of Malaysian Nasi Lemak. As you can see, there is a big chicken whole leg, achar, ikan bilis, peanuts, half egg, cucumber, and some fried "spice" on top of the coconut rice. Well, the good stuff i personally love is the chicken and ikan bilis. The rest are normal.

Overall, taste normal, nothing special, but is a decent plate of Nasi Lemak.

I also ordered an additional plate of Sambal Sotong. The Sotong is fresh, but unfortunately, the spice or gravy isn't flavorful enough. $3.20 for a plate of Sambal Sotong.

All in all, I am still waiting for the youtuber to give his insights about this plate of Nasi Lemak if he ever will to visit. :D

Mr Coconut | Cappuccino Edition

 

Ok I had ordered both the original Mr Coconut's Coconut Shake and Cappuccino Shake. Apart of supporting multiple times of their original Coconut shake, I decided to try a different one. I ordered the Cappuccino. As shown, I always ordered 0% sugar. However, after tasting the Cappuccino one, I felt that they added like the 3 in 1 coffee with the coconut shake and mixed. Of course this is how i taste lar. Because i was looking and didn't saw any espresso sort of machine. 

BUT it sure taste good :D

The difference from the Coconut Shake $5.40 and Cappuccino Shake $6.90 is $1.50 difference. You can try. Of course the original at Northpoint tasted the best already. With Cappuccino, is not that bad, in fact with 0% sugar, i still feel the sweetness in the drink that is nice though. 

TUN XIANG 豚香南洋馆

 

Tried this store and ordered their Family Set Menu for dining in. Ok la, my favourite and probably got attracted to come and try at this stall at NorthPoint is due to the Roasted Pork. Don't like the seaweed soup, i think especially the pork ball doesn't taste good at all. The Honey Glazed Pork Ribs is normal. But the black char siew and roasted chestnut pork raised the bar. For the black char siew, you can feel the fats and "Char" taste which eventually melted in your mouth. Similarly for the roasted pork which also melt in your mouth, but the crispy part really give you the kick to eat more ! Heavenly pork combo. I might revisit again for their Char Siew and Roasted Pork dishes only.

So their family set menu consists of:
1) Signature Black Char Siew
2) Roasted Chestnut Pork
3) Yellowtail Fishball with Seaweed Soup
4) Sticky Honey Glazed Pork Ribs
5) Japanese White Rice x 2

My overall damage is $28.65. Maybe try not to order this set. Order their specific rice and noodles dishes with its roasted char siew and pork. :)

The Roti Prata House - The Best Crispy Prata?!

Here I am at The Roti Prata House Pte Ltd located at Upper Thomson Road. Normally I would patronize SpringLeaf Roti Prata, but since I am in the area. I think people would not dare to put this title if it is not good. So I shall give it a try.

For a start, I ordered a cup of Teh Tarik, two plain prata and two egg prata. According to my wife and me, the teh tarik is not sweet which is good, but the taste is a little mild, hence quite average.

For the plain prata, it was 100% crispy and in my own view, the taste was unique as compared to regular roti prata in other kopitiam. For the plain prata, i will give 7/10. For the Egg Prata, it is not crispy, maybe the crispy does not apply for egg prata i guess. But it taste ok. I forgot to ask for fish curry, so they served their standard curry which i believed is Chicken Curry. Well taste ok also.

But this place deserved for me to go back and try their other dishes again. In terms of price, it is very affordable. My overall damage for this meal is $6. :)

Starbucks | Late Night Supper

 

Oh yeah ! Its really great having iced coffee and cakes to relax through the night. Relaxing, chatting, simple mobile gaming and adding some sugar rush in my bloodstream. 

But talking about sugar, i didn't know that we can opt for a no sugar Java Chip. Tried the non-sugar version is not that bad. For the Caramel Cloud Macchiato, no matter how much you drink, there will be a layer of white milk/foam on top of your coffee. Well taste wise, i think the original Caramel Macchiato is better. My favourite cake still goes to its CheeseCake. Mango Sago is average. Till another time, will try the other drinks and cakes again.
