2021 or rather the Lunar New Year of Ox had been an awful year for me. Very challenging both emotionally and physically exhausting even towards the last day of the Lunar New Year.
The death of my important family member had changed me during March 2021 to become a more aggressive person, but also clear off the cloudy vision of how I see things better. Typically there is a true meaning of 2021 Xin Chou Year of the Ox offends Tai Sui Zodiac of the Ox. Out of 35 years, I think 2021 is one of the worst years i ever spent in my life. Work problems, Property Agent problems, Insurance problem, people problems throughout the crazy 2021 which nobody would want to experience.
Managed to redeem my birthday treat from Starbucks. Thank you Starbucks for being one that make effort to make everyone happy with your wonderful cake 👍
So i picked their hot-selling Coffee Tiramisu Cake on the house as I ordered my usual Ice Latte with Extra shot of Espresso (Venti). So i paid for the drink and the Coffee Tiramisu Cake is good. Verified with my wife and she gave the thumbs up 👍 too. Got this for my afternoon tea after fasting the previous day for Polyclinic appointment in the morning.
Bought my Coke in Singapore so peacefully and have lots in stock. Bought it near my house, Sheng Siong and still got chance to win 百贝百贝. Just started to buy two cartons as it is quite heavy.
Bought it for $9.50 for one carton of 24 cans. So one can of Coke is equal to 39.5 cents or just round up to 40 cents per can. For me, i felt that it is already very cheap.
Bought this brand of Hokkaido Salt Ramen Cup from HarbourFront Don Don Donki. Too many brands of similar cup noodles. So far, this cup have lots of ingredients and portion is all right. Abit pricey at around $3.90. As usual, japanese takes a lot of pride to prepare their cup noodles and so far, most of the cup noodles that are produced from Japan is good quality. For a quick meal, definitely better than local cup noodles.
Had been drinking this for a month and it is certainly refreshing for this crazy weather. Herbal Tea is known to be sweet, but can help cool your body heat down to prevent headache, Dehydration, etc. Why this is new? Previously, Jia Jia Herbal Tea only offers in "Can form" and it is sweet. Now they offer in bottles size and they have the "Less Sweet" and "Zero Sugar" variant which I felt that the Zero Sugar one is very good while the taste is still there and it bring all the goodness for our body. Certainly go and try it out. I am sure you will like it too ! :)
Bought this during June 2020 and used it for almost 1.5 years+ during Singapore Circuit Breaker Lockdown. As part of my job, i usually used the normal 2.5 inch sata hard disk drive to reimage several PCs. Normally it will take me around 20minutes+ to finish the reimaging process. However with the combination of ROG Strix Arion which is a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure together with Adata XPG SX8200 NVMe SSD (512GB) , it actually save more than 20minutes and took only 90 seconds to reimage a PC.
Went to Yishun Industrial Park that is located beside Canberra Plaza to have dinner. Ordered myself the Lemon Chicken with Rice and my wife ordered the Fried Seafood Glass Noodle. Also ordered the Lettuce & Fish Soup. Basically, both the rice and noodle dishes are decent. The least expectation of Lettuce & Fish Soup actually elevated the standard ! The soup have "Wok Hei" flavour. It just wow my expectation of this dish. Didn't expect it to be so good and the fish meat are quite generous in portion which is why I state this as Part 1. Because I will be planning for another trip back to this place to try their signature item !
Saw this product from Don Don Donki at HarbourFront. Forgotten the price, think its around $6.80 for 150ml of Soy Sauce goodness for egg. From the picture from the bottle, it shows that this soy sauce is somehow to pour onto the egg on the rice. I can't help, but to get it.
For my friends that can't take alcohol, please take note that this Soy Sauce contains alcohol. So better to read before buying if you are not able to consume alcohol content. So i tried it on my fried egg. Well to be honest, I preferred heavy taste of Soy Sauce on my eggs. This bottle is quite mild, but the taste have a little sweet taste. It is still pleasant and goes ok for your fried eggs, but I preferred local Soy Sauce that have more salty taste. :D
One of the cheaper, but also good quality Sugarcane Juice choice to takeaway. They have the option to add Lemon and other stuffs to your Sugarcane juice, but I still prefer to add my own half lemon to the Large portion of their Sugarcane juice. Definitely a good choice to go with your lunch or dinner meals. Do check out their menus in store as they often have discount or bundle package on specific days. They also have several other branches across Singapore.
Decided to order McDelivery on a rainy day, since it is lazy enough for me to get up so early. The correct term is I ordered McDonald via GrabFood Delivery. As the previous McDelivery took place last year, I encountered couple of times that they delivered the wrong order, despite both the eReceipt and their physical receipt is attached, but still providing the wrong orders. That separate incident, i then followed up with their branch manager. Don't want to mention more issue, as some branch manager also having issues..

Just to add some comments to this, since it is so hot this few days. Many OCBC customers had fallen prey to the scammers. According to the Police, at least S$8.5 million in total were reported lost. Even me myself had received the SMS by the scammers. I do not have an active bank account with OCBC, but used to have it several years back. So i am sure that I do not have bank account with OCBC. So I not sure whether my old personal data probably got into the hands of those scammers as well. Because my contact number had not been changed for the past 2 decades, so i think they tried their luck. Not sure about those who fallen prey, but for goodness sake, the scamming message was a lousy one and so OBVIOUS. I felt that we cannot depend solely from the bank. As a consumer, you need to wake up and protect yourself as well ! Everyone is responsible for this. I felt that OCBC is great enough to refund fully to some customers already. Well done to them. But for the customers, please wake up lar. Everyday we all received scam calls, scam emails, scam SMS and even scam WHATSAPP messages. I immediately report and FK all of them. Nowadays scammers seldom call me, because I have ways to scare the hell out of them. I don't feel sorry for the scammers that got heart attack out from me :P
Who doesn't expect that the number 1 Nasi Lemak is in a Hawker Centre ! It sure looks like a simple plate, but the overall taste really meet the standard. Do expect long queues when you are there.
Just a summary. Sultan of Brunei always order it for breakfast whenever he visits Singapore. Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong served it to Indonesian President Joko Widodo at the Istana with the same. And the rest is history.
So I ordered myself the Royal Flush from Selera Rasa Nasi Lemak which is located at Adam Road Food Centre. I got to say honestly, it really is the best quality for its price. Also I got my an expert taster who is very picky to try it. She also said that this is the best Nasi Lemak she tasted so far. Wow, i'm impressed as the expert taster always mentioned that SG Nasi Lemak is nowhere Malaysia standard, but she finally said that this is one of the best !
Just to recap before I talk about the above Cai Fan, there was a post on 24 December 2021 or you can visit my second most expensive encounter here. So as mentioned in my last year post, I managed to dig out the most expensive Cai Fan at Marina Bay Sands which i also eaten just before I went to collect my first iPhone 12 on the newly opened Marina Bay Sands Apple Store.
So I had taken 1st item - Fried Chicken Thigh, 2nd item - chilli kang kong and 3rd item - Hotdog with fishballs. It is considered as 3 items and cost me $16.50. Many asked me last year why ate this where i can have a meal at a restaurant. The reason is my booking collection was 8pm and I rushed down to MBS after work and left with about 45 minutes to eat. Seeing so many places was packed with people. I just wanted to grab something easy and fast to eat. However to be frank, the chicken thigh really had lots of meat and it is delicious. The rest was normal. Think I took a bad shot with my Oppo 10x Zoom then as the plate was a big one. Actually I personally don't mind if the Cai Fan is expensive, more importantly the quality of the ingredient must be good and that matters the most !
OMG certainly not a good time to renew contract. The new offer rate is so high. My previous plan which was my second renewal (1 year plan) was based on $0.1745 per kWh with GST which is ending on 13 February 2022. The first Keppel Electric plan (2 years plan) i signed three years ago was $0.1798 per kWh with GST.
But now the electricity went up so much to $0.2580 per kWh with GST. Gosh, I not sure whether I should jump to other electric service provider, but it seems that the others went up just as well for now. My monthly average is around 400 kWh. A simple calculation can be seen how much extra in dollars:
Old Plan Payment: 400 kWh x $0.1745 = $69.80
New Plan Payment if i sign up: 400 kWh x $0.2580 = $103.20
!@#$%^& Gosh, a whooping $33.40 extra to pay out for electricity. Can't imagine if GST is also increased in the near future. If water and rubbish prices going up, I think everyone expenses are going to increase significantly. Everything going up except our salary :/
No choice, but to order takeaways and grab my way home for my lunch. I ordered dry wanton noodles, dry dumpling noodles and fried wantons. I got to say the quality is definitely a 9/10. Quantity is 6/10, reason being, for takeway orders, there are no soup. Wished i am able to eat there and tried the soup. Definitely I will go there again at a non-peak period.

Let a true blue Canberra Crescent Resident unlocked the truth to this. The affected block is the one beside Canberra Plaza. It was rectified and the new appointed Public Waste Collector had released their Press Release to notify all Canberra Residents of this viral issue. Its just an operational issue as they had just taken over. We all knows when someone leaves, they leave the shit for the next contractor to take over the shit. So such things are common and often taken for granted. Just let them iron out the issue and "take this to the grave"... Press Release as pasted in the lift in Canberra Neighbourhood. Life still carry on..
Budget bowl of noodles at S11 Ang Mo Kio Coffee Shop. Special mention is on the fishball which is good and minced meat in the bowl of soup. Noodles are ok. There are several options to chose from other than the noodles and you will be able to choose different ingredients to cook in your bowl of soup. My order is based on the most basic one with no add-on. Good option if you want a quick meal as they prepare fast almost like a fast food chain or sometimes faster :D
As King of Fried Rice had expanded to a lot of places in Singapore, it is now easily accessible to places where I can enjoy at a nearby area. At this moment, they are still expanding, so do check out in their website for more fried rice goodness at other locations. So while I was scouting for some building, I happened to be nearby Wisteria Mall. So I decided to give another try at King of Fried Rice at Wisteria Mall.
I had ordered one Prawn Egg Fried Rice and Pork Cutlet Egg Fried Rice. Well, i guess i do not have to describe much but it was both good at 8/10. The chilli goes well with the rice too. The only downside is the price and quantity, whereas the rest is history :D
Bought at around $1299 5 years ago when it is once one of the flagship highest capacity of 16KG Top Loader Washing Machine from Samsung.
