Hundred Acre Creamery at Sembawang Shopping Center

Went to try this Hundred Acre Creamery at Sembawang Shopping Center using the free shuttle bus service from my doorstep to have some ice cream. As usual, we always tried the premium flavor, Pistachio and one coconut slush. So we ordered double which total up to $9.50. The good thing was they served us drinks as well. But in the end, don't really like the pistachio one and still prefer the coconut flavor. But generally, i think Hundred Acre Creamery is not bad. Recommend to try as they also had several branches elsewhere.

Mid-Autumn Festival 中秋节 Part 2

Because we paid $5 for each ticket for each person. We got the goodie bag, really a hand carried bag, one lantern each, and 3 boxes of Mooncakes ! Wow ! I think its really worth the money. I tried the mooncake and they even had Egg Yolk in it ! I guess it is sponsored by many organisation. My daughter love the mooncake also. But need to eat in moderation of course. 😁Happy Mid-Autumn Festival to all of you !

Haha i am proud of my daughter that she won third prize for being best dressed. She really love to play the lantern. Initially i am not confident that she will stand in line to queue and to go to the main stage to cat walk. But she did it without fear. I remembered when I was young, I am always stage fright. She went through it even there's lot of waiting. Might let her take part in more events in future.

Sun Castle Season 2 [WhiteOut Survival]

Haha at this point of writing, my overall power ranking of this state is 18th Place. Meaning top 18 player of this state. First time, I managed to call off a Rally to occupy this turret. Initially I do not want to join because i am busy and also the main reason was that I do not have much resources to prolong this battle. When I loses all my whole full capacity of troops, I am actually using my precious gems just to do the healing. But why i am doing this is just to fulfil the basic rewards of this Sun Castle. The charm materials are just too precious to pass by as well. So got to balance and weigh the importance of participating this event. But what i can say overall is, i had progressed well in this game and its hard to stop.

McDonald Yuan Yang Review

Chanced upon the new item from Mcdonald Singapore when i was having breakfast. Seems that they have Yuan Yang which is a mixture of both Coffee and Tea. Well i will recommend you just skip this and take just the 100% Tea or 100% Coffee will do. Not very nice as i think the Ya Kun version of Yuan Yang is so much better. Furthermore, Mcdonald is charging it so expensive for such quality. 😓 Suggest to just skip this.

Sushi Tei as a simple 13th Wedding Anniversary

Came to Sushi Tei as a small 13th Wedding Anniversary lunch. We had both the very same Hokkaido Pork Belly Shabu Shabu Hot pot for each of us and shared with our daughter. I think both the price and quality of the hotpot at Sushi Tei is still maintained good and consistent. We opt for Udon and Rice as well as extra egg and corn sushi. Environment is cosy and our hot green tea is refillable. Although we came Sushi tei for quite a number of times, but the quality still never failed me.

Force to resign? Seek recourse?

Well, this is a stressful and hard that it is better off to resign and move forward. If someone got the heart to make you resign, its going to be hard to prevent it. Your boss can simply give you bad grades even you met all the requirement of the job or even do extra work. What can you do if you kept getting bad increment and bonuses? But well the article here is about the extreme scenario of "forcing you to resign". So this is different from what i highlighted earlier and is much more worst. Then you can definitely seek recourse and gather as much evidence as possible. But then again, if you win, i wonder how to stay on with those idiots still giving you pressure. Hence the only way out is still get the payout and look for a better environment.

With all the smartphones' rage lately, there are lots of promising models from Mid Range and High End department. Today we are seeing just a leak that the next Poco F8 Ultra will be coming to the global market soon. Equipped with Snapdragon latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, this is a very powerful phone which Xiaomi 17 series is using the same chipset as well. China is indeed challenging the latest released Apple iPhone 17 series as well. Now to add on, this model is also going to be equip with a high end camera system also. Really looking forward to my next phone. Will wait for more confirmed detail and release to put my money on the right device.

Starbucks Double Strength Bold Coffee Series

Tried the Starbucks' all new BOLD, Intense Latte at $5.90. Its small sized or rather only one sized option. I tried the Double Strength Caffe Latte and it is really solid. Enough for you to start the day without feeling tired and being alert in whatever you do. So i recommend drinking it if you have an important day ahead. Since my daughter is waiting for my coffee, got the Mango Shortcake for her and she love it. 😅

Haiya another cash grab event. I just know that i used up tons of gems just to unlock the slots right from the start and let it keep running 8 hourly to get the random chest. This time round, i personally felt that it is more like a gamble and does not give you valuable benefits. So will not recommend people to spend on this event.

FairPrice Original Potato Sticks

Wow this is actually not bad for both the taste and price. Now its like selling for less than $2 and within the big packet, there are several small packets which is good. It looks like french fries but it is actually potato chips but in the stick format. Think can buy and recommend it.

Honor X9d Review

Wow other than seeing it on Videos and Images via Social Media, i really get to see live on the staff aggressively trying to damage the phone and also placed it inside the water and the phone turns out to be good. Besides that, being a mid range phone, the specs really outperform on some older flagship phones. The battery and toughness is the strength. Price and camera are surprisingly good. I told my ex colleague about this device and after he touched abit. He immediately bought it on the spot. 🤯 Now somemore they give a free tablet, lucky draw and $20 eVoucher at Challenger Store in Bugis Junction. Don't miss out this. It is indeed a solid phone. Singtel have to apologise on behalf of Optus Outage

Oh well, thats because Optus is owned by Singtel to operate in Australia. The 13 hours outage caused Emergency Hotline to be down and the root cause was due to the upgrade of the Firewall. Because of the downtime, people who require emergency support could not call the hotline and ended up 3 deaths in Australia. Well, i have no words to describe this, but in terms of technology, sometimes old technology tend to be more reliable. But I hope more rollback plans were in place to prevent such incidents to happen. People rely on these services very much all the time and communication is critical. 

Li Xin Fishball Noodles at Bukit Canberra

Came here this time for lunch and asked for extra noodles. The person asked whether to add two fishballs for $1.50, i said ok. So total amount is $6.80, but despite the added noodles, the portion is still very small. That shows that things are expensive nowadays. Gosh, Fishball is still good though. I hope they can really add more in terms of portion. Furthermore i actually paid for more noodles. 😒

Drinking Water in MRT

This guy is getting famous for all the wrong reason. I not sure if he had collabrated with SMRT on this, but apparently i doubt so since it is happening on all social media posts. For the viral article, i think he achieved it. But what comes next is SMRT better give him the maximum fine for purposely testing the system. I mean like sick people who need to drink plain water is fine, but for this, is totally no any other good reason. So just fine them hard is post as a good message to others.

QR Code System not available on Day 1 of Launch

It is a joke if people are taking things seriously on the first with Malaysia. To be frank, Even they said first day to provide convienence to people crossing via QR Code, one should take with a pinch of salt. The only thing is they are fast is fining people. Its hard for them to improve overnight, but i certainly can see improvement as compared to a decade ago. Let's hope Malaysia can be more efficient for the coming years when SG JB Special Economic Zone begins ! For now, give them some time to resolve and stablised these issues. Problems and issues from time to time must be within your expectations too. 

Closure of Harry's at Novena

Well, this is a surprise as Harry's had been operating at Novena for a very long time. I also visited this for many years back when i was still working at Novena. The fortunate thing is they still have other branch operating and not closing for good. Alcohol businesses had been very difficult in Singapore honestly and its because of the operating hours limitation. This is also the place where i tried many different brands of VSOP and my cordon bleu with different mixtures. 

Hai Kah Lang to open in Singapore as its first overseas branch

Yeah i had been to Hai Kah Lang at their malaysian branch several times and i really like its dishes. I even buy their fish crackers each time i visited them. Of course i am able to get most of their dishes with ease and add extra premium ingredients. But it is the same issue again. In Singapore, its going to be costly and opening at Funan, don't need to see the newly released menu and you will know that there will be a big jump in prices as compared to the Malaysian counterpart. But hope they can maintain the same standard when they are operating here in SG.

Bank Account System [WhiteOut Survival]

Even game also have bank account, but is using gems. Of all the different rates, i think the best is still the daily interest. Daily Interest of 5% but the maxmium limit is 6000 gems in game gems. So the daily payout is 300 gems additional to me but will lock up 6000 gems within the day. But the catch is this daily interest is only available for those who spend in the game unfortunately. For the totally F2P, they will need to utilise the rest of the option which is quite bad. So similarly to real life bank FD, we will need to always find the best deal to generate out more interest.

China pressing own local tech companies to stop buying Nvidia Chips

The world and China will all be trying to rely on themselves since US threatened everyone especially China. Now China will not be using other people's Tech especially US even after NVIDIA tried to tailor-made for China to comply with US export restrictions. China will made use of its own techology now to compete with the world to produce its own product. I mean every country is trying to do the same, but not possible due to several factors as each countries had its own limited resources and constraint. Anyway, looking forward to China Tech.

Hakku Yu Guangzhou at NorthPoint

Finally i came down to try this. Got to queue for 30 to 45 minutes. But eventually got a seat for the three of us. Its something that we wanted to try, but we came after 2 weeks of business in Northpoint. Seems that it is their second outlet. Their famous dish is the Salted-Baked Chicken. We got half chicken, tried their pork soup and claypot sausage rice as well as the bayberry drink. Except for the pork soup which we will skip in future because its just normal. But the rest of the dish is exceptionally good. So it is worth coming a second visit to try other dishes, but the primary dish of the Salted Chicken is a must order !

Bad Teens Behaviour in Shanghai

Well, i can't just blame it on Shanghai or China, in fact all over the world, there are many irresponsible teenagers causing trouble or behaving badly in the public. So for this case, i think Hai Di Lao did the right thing in getting the compensation from them. Sometimes, certain people need to go through the harshest lesson in order to learn. Hai Di Lao need to need to change lots of things in order to continue its business as some customer might mind the dirty fittings. 

Humful Prawn Laksa

Mmm this Humfull Prawn Laksa is quite famous and they had many awards displayed at their shop. As i am working in the area, i went to try this. Ordered the ALL IN which contains, hum, prawns and chicken meat. But at $10, the portion and quantity is little. It is similar to Katong Laksa with a different twist. But it sure is costly and i felt not worth it. Taste wise, i felt its normal only, not that fantastic also. Oh well. 

McCrispy Burger and Crinkle Cut Fries Review

Tried the Crinkle Cut Fries and its horrible. I think just stick to the normal fries will be fine. Whats worst was i have to fork out extra $1 to upgrade to the Crinkle Cut Fries. Best to avoid. By itself, it is tasteless, need to mix with the chilli sauce. As for the McCrispy Burger, it is all right, but better stick to McSpicy, still one of the best.

New Starbucks Yuan Yang Coffee Frappuccino

At Venti Size, this new Singapore Exclusive Yuan Yang Coffee Frappuccino costs at $10.20. But i tried this drink at half the price using the Starbucks Member 50% off to offset the price. Even at $5.10, i think its expensive, but at least i get to enjoy half the damage only. 😅 So what do i think about this drink? I think it is good and suitable for Asian's taste bud. I personally felt that Starbucks one a little Tea 60% and Kopi 40% weightage. But still can drink lah.

Troop Training with Sun Castle Buff [WhiteOut Survival]

So yeah, with the sun castle buff and application to be the Minister of Education, this is the Training Speed and Capacity Boost value as above. So technically, i am saving resources and time for producing more troops. Hence, i recommend applying this frequently to keep training troops. In this game, troops are never enough and is beneficial in all aspects of the game including battling and gathering.

Interesting Analysis on Troop Training [WhiteOut Survival]

Well the game mechanic is truly applied with the exact number of stats you get or increase in terms of stats. So today I am talking about Troop Training and the speed. As you know, in order to boost this training speed, your barrack and its level determine its base training speed. What other will boost is your Research Facility, Island upgrades and the only hero as of 2nd Season, Ling Xue since the start of the game. Ling Xue itself let you boost 20% of training time when max. So when all the stats were put together, it will show the final percentage points at this Power Bonus Overview. So when I want to train 670 T9 Infantry troops, the original time taken is 1 day, 22 minutes and 50 seconds. Convert that value into seconds is 87770 seconds. With the Training Speed of 168.80%, 87770 seconds divided by 168.80, it will equal to 9 Hours 6 minutes as shown above. Hence, together with the Sun Castle bonus boost of extra 50%, that will cut further time to train. But eventually, you will still need to boost your Training Speed as much as possible to reduce the use of Speed up and to get as many troops trained at the shortest time possible.

New iPhone 17 Pro Max

Apple finally released their new iPhone 17 series. In SG, the iPhone 17 512GB is going for S$1599, iPhone 17 Air 512GB at $1899, iPhone 17 Pro at $2049 and iPhone 17 Pro Max at $2199. To be frank, it is kind of very expensive to own in this era. But with AppleCare+ and iPhone 17 Pro Max 2TB is the most expensive one can get at $3418. I wonder how to afford these phones nowadays. But of course, many people will goes all ways to get it still. In terms of usability, i think it still meets most people's expectation and use in everyday's apps. Let's see how it fares in the coming months.

New Reclaimed Land at Pulau Tekong

Reclaimation of Land is not new to Singapore as we have shortage of land. But the latest addition of this land plot at Palau Tekong is great. Basically they are using it for Military Training which is the intended purpose all along together with Pulau Tekong. But of course, not many people is happy of this. But life goes on right? Changi Airport area is also very critical to Singapore, hence it is well positioned in this sense.

Ordering ChaPanda via GrabFood

So on my lazy Sunday, i ordered ChaPanda's Kyoho Grape Tea and the other with Cheese. This is also my second time drinking ChaPanda. From GrabFood, both of this drinks cost me $18++ to deliver to my house. So its an once in a blue moon affair to do this. But fortunately, the drink is consistently good and enjoyable. The seal on the bag is good also to ensure no tampering throughout the delivery. So i think its quite worth it in the end.

KitKat Chocolate Drink

This new Kitkat Chocolate Drink Pack contains 10 sticks for your 10 cups of drink. Its not that bad. But really need to measure properly with the amount of water. I tried too much water, the diluted drink felt tasteless. Too little water, the taste will be very heavy. So once you put in the proper amount of water, the drink is perfect. Recommend to get this.

Appointment of Minister of Education [WhiteOut Survival]

Finally being appointed as the Minister of Education for WhiteOut Survival. I'm able to train troops 50% faster and with extra training capacity. Unfortunately, i am unable to utilise it fast as I need to retain my Speed Up resource. So it is for the sake of trying to be an education minister. So i'll be applying for Interior Minister for extra boost in Resources is much better.

Malls Infrastructure seems to be getting worst

Malls' Infrastructure seems to be not that good lately. Taking into consideration of other recent incidents at Star Vista glass shattered, Dian Xiao Er's lighting fell off and injured people, etc. This one is due to pipe burst at City Square Mall. Not be confused with the JB City Square Shopping Center, this one occurred in Singapore. So sometimes you wondered if proper maintenance is there or simply everyone is waiting for problem to occur before fixing. It seems that many places are like that, despite me warning the danger ahead. People still want to save cost, maybe because due to KPI. 😅

Stronghold Battle that causes strong player to quit [WhiteOut Survival]

I would say for my entire life, this Whiteout Survival is the only game where i became a P2W player. For several stronghold battles, it was tough and we won only 1 or 2 times out of 3 battles so far as it is a weekly affair. It sure gives out several rewards and all alliance members supposed to attend. For this round, we had the hardest battle with IND, but because we grew slightly stronger now and my alliance leader pumped in gems and money to quickly bump up the capacity temporarily. Thats the reason we won. I get to defend for awhile as the top for a slight moment. HAHA so better take selfie. But because of this hard fought battle, i am sad that our rival opponent which was one of the strongest, quit because he lost this one Stronghold battle. WTF. There goes our motivation. Felt that many aspect of this game also shows the hard truth about real life experiences. But i'm not just going to quit here and will become even stronger !

Board and Card Games in Singapore

Well, i do love to participate in competition. But to be honest, it is hard to play professionally and compete internationally. As a child, studies and tuition are important and occupied most of the time. As an adult, work and family matters are very important. It is hard to find time to focus on strategy or even hard to participlate in rare events in Singapore. But whats best is at most, most players in Singapore is more of the trader type rather than being a player. So its just hard.

My First SunCastle Battle [WhiteOut Survival]

After my first Sun Castle Battle in this state, i managed to get Rank 18. Rewards are still tons of gems and charms which are extremely important. But the downside is i had wasted so much well kept resources. I think for the next one, i will just focus on the basic reward. In addition, i spent a straight 5 hours battle which i got to use 2 phones to swap after depletion of battery. But what an experience. Congrats to DOX for being the first President of this state.

Its cheap, but not to my liking. I feel that it is ok to take a slice. The moment you take more than one slice, it is just too much. But one whole cake is like less than $6, but able to share between 10 pax. But since they are still selling, means that there are really people who like it.

126 Canberra new Lemak Chicken Store

Bought his Lemak Chicken Rice for $5 at this new store. I don't think it is a 100% muslim owned store as i think the boss is chinese. For $5, i think it is just ok value for a fried chicken drumstick, fried egg, chilli, cumumber, rice and the lemak gravy. The lemak gravy is so so, chicken drumstick dry, egg is just ok, but the chilli is good. A little on the sour side, but its considered spicy. As i don't eat much nowadays, so portion is just right. Maybe might try their other stuffs on the menu.

120 Canberra Crescent Zi Char

Haiya, the zi char is becoming from bad to worst. Seafood Fried Rice with egg costs $7. Before it is good and cheaper, but today not only it became more expensive, but i am getting all the burnt rice and overcooked seafood. Because of this, i no longer support them. It takes consistency to carry out a business. Once you affect your regulars, thats probably the last time you will earn.

Johor quakes a reminder that severe tremors can impact Malaysia, Singapore

Yeah it can affect anywhere in the world. Although Singapore is relatively safe, it does had its impact damaging one of the houses in Chinatown. But that is from a long time ago. But whats scary now is that Segamat District had been hit with tremors 5 times in a week. I not sure what the authorities will do for now, but it somehow will affect housing prices in the area during this time. We hope that the area will be peaceful and the earthquake will subside soon.

Last Visit at Pang Pang Kopi vegetarian Cafe at Canberra Plaza

After some lousy visit experiences at this Pang Pang Kopi vegetarian Cafe at Canberra Plaza, i went back to give another chance, however after trying out their Mee Rebus and Hainanese Chicken Curry Rice, the standard really fell short and it price. It is really sad and hope that it is better to change for other stall owner to do it. It is much worst than the previous Grove restaurant. You can try it for yourself and given the price, I can get better food elsewhere in the area.

Non-Google Play Store Apps banned in Singapore

Yeah so Singapore will start blocking apps from unverified developers such as not being listed in Google PlayStore with effect from September 2026. In a way, it is much safer. But immediate thought, Singapore Pool app is one of them as it is currently not listed in Playstore and is via sideload apps. So i guess now developers are very busy now until Sep next year.

How to use $100 SG Culture Pass Credits

Valid until 31 December 2028, $100 is not that bad to begin supporting SG shows. After redeem of your credits, you will be able to book events at the popular booking platforms. So from these booking platform itself, you can browse through your interested shows accordingly. I think this is a rather nice initiative.

Thomson Medical venture into Johor Singapore Special Economic Zone

Wow i am impressed that such facilities is to target majority of foreigners residing in JB. Probably becoming a retirement hub perhaps. 😅 Jokes aside, but in this case, i think it is also to target rich people to get into a much better healthcare needs. I doubt it will be cheap as Malaysia Government's Hospital are so much cheaper. But then, Malaysia is shortage of Specialist Medical, hence it is a good move that Thomson Medical is trying to do this.

M1 MAXX upgrading to 5G

Finally after Simba bought over M1, M1 Maxx is offering all its subscribers for free 5G. As i am using physical sim, so i will probably need to go over one of the MAXX Roadshow to exchange my 4G Sim Card for a 5G Sim Card. But having 5G connections and able to use it at many countries with just below $14 is an ultimate steal !

When i wanted to finally go down to Foon Yew Laksa few months back, they were closed. But finally there are good news that their new stall is finally going to open soon ! It is JB best and highly rated Laksa with massive amount and types of ingredient for your selection. I hope the new store's standard will be high or at least maintain at its strict standard. Will plan for a trip soon and visit them.

The rewards are so random till it is almost a scam that bait you into buying more fortune Pack. So strongly advice everyone not to spend a single cent on this. It is still largely depend on your luck. So focus on other better events.

NDP making back to National Stadium in 2026

Yeah finally its back to our iconic National Stadium. Guess i will take this chance to bid for NDP tickets in 2026. The last time i went for NDP was back in 1996. So 2026 will be a good chance to celebrate my 30 years of return to NDP physically. That also say that i am really old now. Sigh. But i think National Stadium made as a very good venue for this purpose.

Bird of Paradise at Mandai Bird Paradise

I went to Bird Paradise and also went to eat Birds of Paradise which is famous for its ice cream. Over at the outlet, they were also selling sandwiches, waffles and beverages. But our key motive is to try the Ice Cream. Bought this for $13 for double scoop. Paid the extra $1 for the Pistachio flavor. Unfortunately the Pistachio flavor wasn't so nice, but it is still decent. The best one is the Coconut Slush which is great and you can really taste like the real coconut thingy. Not too sweet and everything were made to perfection.

AvoFresh Smashed Avocado

Bought two of the AvoFresh Avocado at 2 for $13.60. It is expensive, because it is imported from Australia and made in Australia. I thought it is just pure Avocado, but the moment i ate it. I was so WRONG. Maybe i am not used to it, but i don't think pure avocado tasted like this. It is sour, but confirmed it was not spolit. Suspect they added too much of something else, maybe to preserve it. But it sure doesn't taste so good. Think will not buy this again. 😞
