Fortress Saga | Began on 14 Sep 2024

With games which i retired, now comes the newer games which i had just enrolled. What i like these games is that I don't really need much time to focus but rather tweak some stats and let it run. Hence these are classified as idle games. It is like running RPA robots or AI to let it run according to how you want it to advance. I think this is a fun game except that it got removed from Google Play Store due to some cash items problems with the past players and destroy the reviews till they banned them. But Samsung Store have them 🤣. I'm using both Samsung S24 Ultra and Samsung Z Fold 5, i am also a F2P player so i am not worried for any cash transactions at all. I shall review this probably in a year time or if i ever retired before then.

Mooncake Selection for 2024

Bought the cheap cheap Moon Cake at bottom most pic from Sheng Siong Supermarket. I think i got it at SGD3.40. But actually it is made in Malaysia. Similarly, i bought the Snow Skin Durian Mooncake from JB City Square at RM199. Of course this RM199 include another box, which i give it to my parent and brother. So i think it is worth it lah. Next year, will have a change again 😅

Johor Bahru's Coffee Shops "The Way we were"?

Well, you can say food were okay and nostalgic. But the best reason is still the price. Most people goes there because of the price. Singapore is way too expensive. It is something Singapore need to work on. Thats all.

Toddler is King or Queen 😂

Wah piang, this type of news and the answer is simple. I will definitely not removed the iPad unless he or she is sleepy. Especially in the flight, they really need these entertainment to keep them entertained. On a flight, they will not sit still one. It is tested and proven. As a parent, of course we don't want them to keep looking at the iPad screen or shouting in a public area. So its better to keep them entertain throughout the flight to prevent them from shouting and running over the place. Hence i support this mother's action lah.

Four Season Durians D24 Durian Mooncake recalled !

LOL ! "ALL" and i mean ALL batches of Four Season D24 mini durian mooncakes were recalled over bacteria GG lar. I also bought Mao Shan Wang and Black Thorn Durian Mooncakes but is other brand phew ! Four Season is considered a decent branding. Nowadays quite jialat lah. Pay more maybe to worry less but also might kana. Sigh. Life are getting harder :/ 

Happy Mid Autumn Festival 2024 to All !

So many activites for the little one and all. You don't really need to buy the tickets, just be there and enjoy ! I am also attending to give the little one to experience every festival possible. Really kudo to the organiser for arranging such fun activities to make it enjoyable.

Huawei launched its USD$2800 tri-fold smartphone after Apple. USD$2,800 for a device is 🤯. Let's see what users and how many people would buy this. At this stage, its certainly 0% chance for me to enter. Way too much liability if i will to get this.

Syfe launches World First Protected S&P500 Portfolio

Well, US is hit with lots of negative news lately due to it recent Presidential Elections and many problems. Syfe a singapore based investment company launches its first Downside Protected S&P500 portfolio.

As extracted from Edge Singapore, the following is the main gist of the detail. According to Syfe, investors can access various protection levels starting from 3.3% estimated max loss levels while realising gains of up to 12.4% per data as of Sept 4. Well this is actually very first. But then S&P500 is in their highs now.

MRT and Bus Fare Increased By 10 cents from 28 Dec 2024

There it goes ! With my complaint to MRT and receiving a useless reply, encountered delays after delays, still got the cheat to increase fares !! Really give up with Minister of Transport. This is supposed to be the only cheapest form of public transport, but its not cheap ! 

Just being Practical is the way forward

As a guy, i can understand how life is in 2024. Properties, expenses, cost of living and entertainment is no longer affordable moving forward. What government are helping are temporary measures and cannot help people forever. Got to make good use of the resources to survive. Hence as above is one who thinks forward and put up a desperate collabration with another person to purchase a BTO which is considered as the only cheapest option of getting a flat. In order to get BTO, one must be engaged and get a ROM cert once they get the keys. What can i say that this might be one of the fastest way, but if many people adopt this, it will cause social problems. Let's see 🍿

Chanced upon this idle game and it is one of the most popular game in 2024. Maybe or hopefully i can review this game in a year time and become STRONG. 😆 Tested a while, seems that it is quite fun, but legendary gears might take awhile to attain it. Do add me in the game when you see me. Can play together.

Sunshine Shokupan Butter Loaf

Costing at SGD$3.80 per loaf, the slice is indeed thick and very soft. It goes well at its own, but i still goes with either butter or mixture with butter and peanut butter. It had some japanese elements as well and i really like it. The only con is the price which is considered to be quite pricey though. 😔

Little Caesars Pizza | The End in Singapore

Even F&B is not spared for Little Caesars Pizza. I have yet to try this and was recommended by my colleague to try it like for 2 years now. I guess that i shall pay a little visit to Little Caesars Pizza soon. I heard that they were both economical and good. I better try a piece of history before it closes down all remaining outlet.

Don't be so guai lan at any immigration !

Morale of the story, don't be so guai lan at any Immigration across the world. Just do your own business and move on. By challenging the immigration officer is a loss loss situation. If you find any mistake or anything, just approach kindly with a open smile even though when they are not smiling. For this case, the malaysian officer have the rights to detain her. Enough said for not complying. A choice had been given, just execute it at another counter. It is more of a learning process for this woman. 😑

Gen Z prefers TouchScreen over Keyboards for Typing

As a Millennials writing this, yeah i can't blame them to prefer typing over touchscreens over keyboards. During our time as a millennials, touchscreen typing used to be very terrible either because of the size of the screen or the sensitivity of the screen. Today, touchscreens are very well optimized and is good to input text easily. However for myself, i indeed prefers typing over keyboards. Keyboards provides a sense of satisfaction and with the feeling, i can sense whether I am typing the correct text. Keyboard is a piece of art for us. Touchscreen is good because one do not have to bring additional tools along. But i also felt that Gen Z tend to prefer using auto correct a lot due to touchscreen texting.

Malaysia Boleh Cai Fan 2024

Haiya, the cai fan at Bugis Junction is getting more and more expensive. Just two ingreidents with rice cost me $6. I came here because Bras Basah Food court is closed for renovation for a few months. No choice and got to source for better places as lunch prices are going out of hands.

Tun Xiang Thomson Plaza

Not my first time having Tun Xiang, but having it at Thomson Plaza for the first time. Had gone to its Northpoint City branch which is clearly better. The hokkien mee at Thomson Plaza is lacking in taste, perhaps to cater to the older crowd maybe? Satay not my choice but my wife, satay is definitely better in other satay specialist places. Just a simple meal took around SGD$28++. Don't think its worth it since it did not secure my taste bud. Sigh, 4/10 DarkMicro points.

Pocket Trading Card Pocket

Latest addition from the Pokemon Company. It will launch on 30th October 2024. With Pokemon Go being so popular, i wonder how far can this go, it could appeared to be competitive, especially for the whales. I believed that other than Pay to Win, there will be skilled players across the world as well. But i think it is a good game to enter. This will also help promote their original physical card trading cards as well.

Sing Dollar might be weakening.

I'm not financially trained. However, i think that it is trying to curb people from bringing money or buying and spending overseas. Not sure whether if it can bring down the cost of living or not. I just hope that it will give us problem especially buying overseas properties. This might make holidays even more expensive.

Kedai Kopi Xuu Yau at the old location

Had their famous Char Siu Noodles and Fishballs at Kedai Kopi Xuu Yau. This is their old location where they will be moving to Taman Sentosa in late Sep 2024. Think besides the soya bean milk, i guess they ownself made both the char siu noodles and fishball their own. Fishball is a little tough, but i can see that it is old school, reminds me of my primary school days almost 30 years ago. I got to say that the char siu was good, really good in fact as i'm not really a char siu person. Price wise, i don't have to say much. It is affordable. 

Temporary Financial assistance From Apr 2025

Aiyo so many criterias and its not really much. Really need to read the fineprint properly. It is not what they really said in the first place. Its only a small sum enough to survive through the limited amount of months. You also need to be in the company long enough to be eligible. The worst part is why even sponser PR in 2026 onwards? Like that, i rather they focused and reallocate the funds better for other implementation. Sigh...

Rabbit R1 finally available in Singapore

It is finally available in Singapore. But the hype of the product is finally over. The pioneer users actually assisted to provide lots of reviews for us. It seems that there are many issues and is still not exactly perfect. Too bad, if it came Singapore first, i probably had gotten it. But now shall pass this expensive toy.

Australians' rights to not answer work call

Wow, as much as i think that not all jobs are the same. Imagine they have urgent priority task after working hours, and they have the rights to not answer the urgent call. It is just amazing. Really depends on the company how they manage the load. But many will definitely abused and explolit to cause work problems. Good luck to them.

The Coconut Valley

While surveying one of the best customized cake shop at this address: 16, Jalan Kempas 1B, Bandar Baru Kota Puteri, 81750 Masai, Johor, Malaysia, we just walk opposite for a quick lunch at The Coconut Valley. Although not that popular, but food is still decent as we see locals having their meal there as well. We had nasi lemak with a little twist like cereal chicken and fried chicken, coconut shake and chendol. Both price and portion are ok and decent. But go there when you want to shop for baby stuffs or customized cake. They do offer delivery to Singapore, but at quite a hefty price. 😅 As i am planning to order for my event, will provide a review when i managed to get one.

Heinz Rich & Creamy Truffle Mayo

At $4.20, Truffle Mayo seems like a steal ! The taste is there, but felt quite artifical. i think the regular mayo is so much better lah. But not a fan of Heinz actually. HellMann's Mayo is one of the best, but not easily available in normal supermarket. It often appear in finest or the more premium supermarket. So u can still give this a try.

Mpox cases are growing...

As extracted from CNA, mpox are spreading and more cases are increasing. As above, these are the symptoms and how it can spread from people to people. Better to reduce or stop any activities with close contact. I think even in an enclosed room, also quite bad.

Upgraded to GarlicOS [RG35XX]

Finally upgraded my Abernic RG35XX gaming console to GarlicOS. As of current, i am still exploring. Overall all the functions are working well. Just that i don't like the standby mode where it actually shut off the machine instead of hibernating. In that aspect, the original OS works better in that. But Garlic interface is cleaner and smooth.

NTUC Stack and Save 🤔

At first, i doesn't know how this works. It sure does not work automatically. Initially, i bought Milk with the same tag at the shelf showing to save 30 cents. I just buy the product at full price and realised that it does not work off the discount. So i went for a second visit. This time, i took this same picture and show it to the cashier. She noted it and scan from her book of bar code and i now see that the item had deducted 15 cents off. Aiya want give discount, don't do until so troublesome leh.

Xin Fu Ji Local Delights | Carrot Cake at 888 Plaza

Read some reviews on some of the better Carrot cakes near my area. This time, i tried Xin Fu Ji Local Delights Carrot Cake located at 888 Plaza. I ordered one small plate of black and one plate of white. Each small plate cost $4.50 each and i got to say that the portion is good. Normally the black ones are heavy in flavour, but i will say that the black one is isn't that nice [5/10]. The white one is a lot better than i thought. So if anyone comes here to try. I think its better to try the white version [6/10]. My 10/10 carrot cake no longer exists as they had retired. My 2nd choice for 8/10 at bugis also gone as the unvle had retired. So far, none can beat my record of having the nicest Carrot Cake in Singapore. 😐

Windows 11 update screwed up my USB A and C Port

As above, it seems that the recent .Net Framework is causing issue to my Windows 11 23H2 OS's USB A and USB Type C ports. After the update, my Type C immediately shows an error stating that power is not enough to supply to my Drive 🤨. Then i tested the USB A port, totally unable to read my other hard disk drives as well. OMG. Instantly, i went to check and found out that others were experiencing the same problem as well. So i just went to check if there are other updates and yeah there is. After this additional update, i tested all the hardware component went back to normal. Saw some poor guys who went further to follow Microsoft's solution and end up performing unwanted drastic steps. Sigh.. 

One Platform which is the best for Gaming

Game Developers are smart to go on the best and trustworthy platform and that is Steam. I had been using Steam for the longest time besides garena and blizzard. Steam is still the best for PC gaming especially now it is the best platform for both PC and even mobile handheld devices such as Steam Deck, MSI Claw, Lenovo Legion Go and even ROG Ally X ! So i also do recommend everyone to take care of your steam account and buy games when there is sales.

Melon Ice Cream is coming back to McDonald

Yay ! Melon is coming back to Mcdonald range of Ice Cream on today ! Could it be because of what is happening to Japan? Let's hope Japan will be stable and safe. With a potential and younger leader to lead the country forward.

Nintendo Switch Might Not Be Launching before April 2025 as planned.

Not as planned, there may be delay to the launch of Nintendo Switch 2. I hope it will not affect Monster Hunter Wild Launch. But if i bought Monster Hunter Wild on steam, i might even skipped Nintendo Switch 2. I think Nintendo really felt the pressure and stress that other handheld console had progressed very well and handle powerful gaming well. With that in mind, i think they are at the stage of going back to the drawing board to produce something more impactful while maintaining costs and backward compatibility. Well, its fine to me. I just need to wait. 😁

Cai Fan is inconsistent

I typically ordered the same food everyday from the same store. But each time, i am getting a different value everyday. Can you imagine that today. A piece of $10 to buy cai fan, and this is the amount of change i got back. $6.30. Sometimes, the same dish can hover between $5.70 to $6.80. Sigh. How can this be affordable?

Move Away from Simba to M1 Maxx

Move away from Simba to M1 Maxx as the signal at both Singapore and Malaysia is isn't good. Although M1 Maxx is priced $1 more each month, but it is much better even in some kampung places. In the MRT, M1 Maxx retain its network better than Simba. Simba have more data allowances, but to me, to be able to use them are much more important than the overall amount of data. 

Penang Savour at AMK Central

As above, ordered the Penang Laksa, Hor Fun, Cendol and Soursop Buahlolong. First thing first, drink quite normal, can pass that. Cendol is good. Both the Penang Laksa and Hor Fun were good and well done for its price. Would go back to have it again. Not a fan of Penang Laksa, but my wife said was good. The hor fun to me is better than most Zi Char Store, probably it is a little on the saltier side, which i like it.

Royal Caribbean and other cruises rising costs !

Aiyah, once again, everything are going up. I'm not surprised. I was fortunate that i always booked them extremely early from 2023 for my upcoming 2025 trip. So as compared to today's prices, i am saving quite a lot from today's booking. So start booking your holidays early, everything is going only one way traffic which is up and up.

Capcom Gamescom 2024

OMG Capcom is making Monster Hunter Wilds the first public playable appearance in Germany at GamesCom 2024 from 21 Aug to 25 Aug. And with over 60 demo stations. If this is held in Singapore, i will definitely make some time to go. So no choice, but to see those youtubers stream the Monster Hunter Wild game.

Steam Deck to get 1200p native support

Yeah it may sound awesome. But it is not a straightforward upgrade. You can't update into an upgraded resolution. Steam provides the support and update which is cool enough. On our part, we still have to get the physical screen to be replaced for 1200p which is above 1080p.

Playstation 5 Sales are down....

Playstation 5 i think sure fall one. Everyone is busy earning money. Where got time to play. Furthermore the game are quite expensive. All the scalpers went out of business and now it is a good time to get one and play. Understand that they release one mobile option to sync and play it remotely. But i guess what everybody wants are the Upgraded Playstation Portable (PSP). I think Sony really need to put more effort in this.

Ha Cheong Gai Chicken Burger

Yeah Ha Cheong Gai Burger is back ! It is largely due to the Ha Cheong Gai spices that made the chicken patty stand out. Tried out during NDP and it was really good. Of course, still did not win my favourite Double McSpicy Burger, but for a limited time, i think its ok to try out a few more times.

Price hikes for Disney+ 😆

Ok lah, to be fair, all the costs of operating these video streaming need money. Everything rises up. Really need to be prudent in our spending. Disney+ had tried for a year before i terminate since i got it for free. Never really utilize much since i am always busy and can't fully finish a movie straight for 2 or 3 hours. So not surprising that it will eventually rised for Singapore lah.

Coconut OREO McFlurry

I think at $3 a cup of Coconut OREO McFlurry is right. Unfortunately this is so because of a promotion. Size and content is good this time and so is the coconut taste. So to me, this is a better deal than Magnum. :) 

TikTok Random Car

Bought this 30 car set from TikTok shop for $14. In the end, inside got 31 pieces of car. All of which can be pulled back to move. I am happy that the car was good and well made despite the price. My daughter love it so much :)

Han's Restaurant in 2024

Had this Fish & Chip set in the newly opened branch in Odeon Tower at Bugis. Price had indeed increase to now $13.80. Portion is smaller, no service charge because you had to clear your own tray. Although there is no plans yet on a further increase of GST, but i believed that this fish & chip set is going to be more expensive in 2025 in a few months time.

Mister Donut X Ya Kun Kaya Toast

Since it is unique, perhaps i should give it a shot. Not really a fan of kaya, but i still ok to have it since Ya Kun Kaya Toast is not bad. Mister Donut i also tried a couple of times, but not as good as most people says, but i think still is a decent donut from Japan. So will go look around and try this and give my thoughts of this soon.

Tim Hortons at Suntec City

Tried their Iced Large Maple Machiatto at their Suntec City outlet. I think that it is nice, but not worth for $9.70. Probably can only try their pastry where i saw customers mostly order boxes of donuts. Will try them and see if it is good.

Minion Land at USS

Aiya initially thought that Minion Land will be a brand new theme park at the new island beside Vivocity. But it seems that plans might be announced way too early for many things to be changed along the way. So upcoming Minion Land theme will be at its existing USS. 

Nespresso Barista Shaker + Coconut

I thought i missed out the limited edition Barista Shaker during my reservist release. But i am happy that i managed to get hold of this limited edition barista shaker from Nespresso Store in Raffles City. Also get hold of the current Coconut over ice edition and can't wait to brew it during these overly hot weather.

Samsung Z Fold 6 Value dropping so fast !

As i am currently still on a "Wait and See" approach to crawl back to my Foldables, i am amazed that the value of Z fold 6 is dropping rapidly in terms of value. This is bad for the early adopters, while it is good news for potential buyers. I felt that it will fall further and will wait or maybe focus on other foldables.
