Chick-Fil-A coming to Singapore late 2025

Isn't it too early to say that it plan to open its first Chick-Fil-A in Singapore by late 2025. I do welcome burgers because i like it. Had never tried this brand of burgers before since i only travelled in Asia and they had never started in Asia. Well at this point, i need to keep my hopes up and wait to try it once they are launched. 😀

Tree of Savior | Trying this for the first time

Somehow the advertisement finally caught my attention on this game and was reading through what the developer and designer had done to this game. First impression - It was great and pretty to start with. But what surprises me is the first time i got to experience Cantonese speaking MMORPG. Just wow ! As i am of cantonese background, this game really is special. They stick to the origin instead of the typical Japanese or Korean voice. Maybe i might go into this game for a while and see if it is worthwhile to go long term.

HOMETASTE HAKKA LEI CHA 家乡味擂茶 / Thunder Tea Rice

At $5 a bowl of Thunder Tea Rice + Soup at Toa Payoh West Market, it is a very generous portion. My wife saw this and went to order it. Although its not perfect, but she said that it is 6/10. Special mention is really the portion. It is one of the largest portion so far for its price. So recommend as a simple daily food.

There are pretty lots of useful extension on Chrome to help up with configuring public kiosk. But somehow Google Chrome will soon remove some of them. Then some kiosks will go haywired. People will soon be forced to opt for either paid apps or even engaged some vendors to assist in hardening their kiosk. No choice lah, security still a top concern or maybe because of some dark secret where these tools are disrupting their business like their ads..

Haha okay lah. Finally the government is doing what majority of the public expects. For public interest, better to maintain the current way so that locals can have a peace of mind. But then it will be challenging for NTUC Income moving forward. What i can say is that the government had done a right move. Points gained ! 😁

Steam games are just license instead of a game?

Isn't it obvious? It is exactly the same logic when you buy an online game from Nintendo Store for the Nintendo Switch, PS Store from a Playstation console, Xbox, etc? Steam is also the same leh. Wonder why people are so "overreacting" over this piece of news? If you want to own a game, just go to other platform and buy physical game disc. Although you are buying a game from Steam store, the game is still permanently tied to your steam account. Legal terms might say its like a license but u still play your game, so there is nothing so serious about it. To be frank, nobody ask you to buy games at full price. Always buy at discounted sales price. 

My Duck HK Roast Delight at Bras Basah Food Court

Its a new store at Bras Basah Food Court. So i tabao this at SGD$6.30 for Char Siew + Roasted Pork Rice. Of course the main highlight is the packaging. Wah this store really spend a lot on the packaging which after finishing my meal, i need to dispose it. All these containers and coloured cardboard really felt expensive. But $6.30 is quite ok i felt. Quality wise is 6/10. Portion is ok as well. So it is something i will eat again.

Snapdragon X Android Hacker Exploit

Ok lah. To be fair, qualcomm should just work with the phone maker who is using android. To us consumers, we will look towards the phone maker company and not to Qualcomm. So Android phone maker had no choice but to quickly release the patches to their phones who is using Qualcomm chip which in this case, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. As a user, just do your due diligence not to access fishy websites or applications, and you will do just fine lah.

Singtel Landline Service Outage

GG already. Every basic services today from trains to banks, from internet to landline phone service seems to be sub-par standards. In this modern world where technologies are advanced and able to handle relatively basic task easily. But in reality, it seems otherwise. I think some jobs or services still require the human touch and workers should be trained to handle the continuity of such business services. Whats the point of paying so much more, but only to get such outage to happen. Furthermore these issues are getting more frequent and this is a worrying sign. Could it be because too many people not doing their job seriously anymore?

Dragon Ball Official Playmat

Haha nowadays, SGD$50 just for a playmat. To me, it is crazy. Yes i know, it is official and i definitely knows Dragon Ball. I am also a dragon ball fan. Its either for rich kids or adults who will buy this. Of course there are also those who goes for sentimental value and i can understand that. Anyway it would take awhile to reach our shore. Waiting for some to sell it at Carousell later at rocket price. 😄

Disney Pixel RPG | DarkMicro had enter the game today !

Today will start playing Disney Pixel RPG which was released on 07 October 2024 4PM if i not wrong. Tried the initial battle looks good with its mechanics. Also to inform that while i started to play this game, i will retire the Fortness Saga game which the game looks ok, but the grinding is massive. Since that game is banned from Google Play Store, then i will put my effort on this new game instead. So lets see if i can last for a while or whether it is worthwhile to play on the long term.

Johor had done it right for so many things | Weekend Change

This is definitely a right move to be. Johor will change back to Satuday and Sunday as the weekend in 2025. At the moment, their weekend is Friday and Saturday. In the first place, making Friday and Saturday is a silly move as it affects global businesses. This was implemented because of their own motive but affecting lives of many others. To keep the competition forward, they really need to adjust back to the norm. 

Founder Bak Kut Teh at Hotel BOSS

Had this bak kut teh for the second time and i got to say this soup base is the saltiest I had tried so far. Its ok lah, I like it when it is heavy in taste. There are many variants for the bak gut teh, but recommend to take the long bone ones like the above. My wife opt for the boneless one which is just slices of meat. But the main one is the soup base. Other dishes, just average, so you can certainly skip them. Refill all you want, but i think quite heaty, each time i ate this, i will have ulcer on my tongue 😩

Katong Laksa X Nissin Collaboration Review

Well well well, my review of such collaboration, especially with Nissin will not go far. One cannot expect to be perfect as it is after all, still an instant noodle. I obviously ate 328 Katong Laksa many times and Nissin Cup Noodles many times as well. So when i tried this, yes, probably only 33% of the Katong Laksa flavour is in it and 67% is pure instant noodles. Unfortunately it can't replicate the same texture of the noodles and the garnish and soup certainly tasted very different and towards the typical cup noodle's department. So in all, I perhaps only give this as a 4/10. Better either go with standard Nissin Cup Noodles flavour or just go 328 Katong Laksa to eat the real stuff.

King of Fried Rice at Canberra Plaza

Finally King of Fried Rice is opened at Canberra Plaza. Really look forward to this for a very long time. It had taken over one of the Vietnamese stall and operating beside the Ramen stall. So i will definitely support stall in my area and i got to say the Egg Fried Rice with Pork Cutlet was good. Together with the unlimited supply of the chilli is shiok. Price wise, i have no comment because it is this type of pricing nowadays. So i give it a 8/10 for this Egg Fried Rice.

[Clash of Clan] Best Loot Reward in 2024

Haha probably one of the best loot resources' base i can find and 100% destroy with only two of my ranged heroes. Really hard to find such bases. The resources really required to keep my base with the full utilization of upgrade concurrently. If i can get such luck frequently, i guess i might reach my target earlier to reach the next Townhall upgrade with all existing upgrades maxed out by mid 2025.

Latest KB5043145 Windows Patch is unstable

As the above title goes, really cannot anyhow suka suka update windows patches once made available. Really need to perform pilot test and monitor for a while, else any IT Professional will be chaotic. Handling IT issues are bad enough, users are worst if they expect things to work or worst, pushed every single problem and blaming their IT Professional without going through a thought process. Yeah yeah i know their work are important, so are ours. We are going through a common war ! Actually Microsoft should be the one who went through all the checks before rolling out. Seems that their QA team isn't really doing a good job for its last line of defence...

Hello Kitty Apple Pie Frappuccino is actually not bad. Got it from Starbucks via their 1 for 1 deal. But after drinking, i think better to go without whipped cream. Like the additional ribbon inside which acted like a simple snack together with the drink.

GoPro Battery really sucks

Despite charging the battery multiple times, its giving me Cold Battery Alert. 🤯 | Not placing it even in Aircon room and living in hot and humid Singapore, it indicate Cold Temperature Alert ! GoPro original battery isn't that cheap to start with. No wonder many people were complaining on their battery and rather get third party batteries. Oh well ! 😒

Sarawak Oil Town Noodles

Located at 285 Yishun Ave 6, i finally get to go for their kolo mee at their stall, Oil Town Sarawak Kolo Mee noodles. Place is rather retro, but economical as they really the residents in the area as well as industrial offices around the area. So i guess thats how they can sustain the business there. In terms of this noodles, i ordered both the Premium Original Kolo Mee and Sweet Sauce Kolo Mee small. Can't really feel the difference as normally premium, we will see something that stands out. But can see that there are more ingredients as compared to the small bowl. However, i do love the Kolo mee here. I will give 8/10 for this bowl of premium mee, but also felt that it should not worth $8. Seats are limited there and it is very hot in the afternoon with sunlight shining across 50% of the total seats. But still recommend people to come here and try it.

Hiap Joo Banana Cake [JB 2024]

Not eating this for the first time, but had not been buying it. So bought at RM12 one box. Inside got sliced up into 10 slices. Felt that if the banana cake taste can be thicker, will be better. Take note that they only accept cash only. Also depending on the demand, might need to wait for them to produce in time. Since i am buying it at 8am and on a Friday, there are ample stock. Overall, this banana cake is ok and at RM12, still ok, but taste can be better. With that, my score is 6.5/10.

The downtime of East West MRT Line

I really felt that SMRT had really lapsed in their poor maintenance to prevent such problems from arising. It seems that some idiots commenting to take their own sweet time to repair and stuffs are most likely because they are not taking the trains and does not impact them. Please note that this is a basic need to ensure service should be up 99.999% of the time because most people need to travel as this is one of the most critical form of transport. It is expensive but already the most cheapest form of travelling around the country. So SMRT, please wake up your idea and those who don't take MRT, please keep your comments to yourself.

Tip Top Portion Inconsistent

Sigh, in F&B, what i hated most is the portion and the inconsistency in both taste and portion. In fact, i had ordered from them several times, but each time, i am getting different portion every single time. Taste in this case is consistent. But i got to say this time, i had the worst piece of chicken in this case. It is so small, that the egg is almost the same size. Considering that it is not that cheap, i am hoping i won't get this kind of portion ever again, else it is time to boycott. 😡

Johor becoming a finanical hub?

Ok lah, it is in the special economic zone. So it is going to be a joint effort of both Singapore and Malaysia. We only hope that this entire ecosystem to be a Win-Win Situation and never forget both countries' effort. Hope it will bring good benefits to both countries and prosper together. Actually the landscape is nice and nice seaview. 

Valve is trying to make steam games playable on Smartphones !

Once again, Valve is awesome. Steam Deck is truly an amazing device that can still beat many modern hardware gaming mobile console. If this is a success to be able to bring it to the Smartphone market, i think Steam Games will be able to sell more and provide more profits to the company. Smartphone nowadays are powerful enough, but lack of good games. This is something Valve able to bring value to the Smartphone market and giving more reasons to get power smartphones to provide better gaming experiences to the world.

Jia Xiang We Yellow Braised Chicken @ 115 Canberra

Haiya, their boss outlet beside this store already pissed me from two incidents. 1st i order zi cha add egg. PAID for the egg, but no egg... 2nd incident is i order Seafood Fried Rice, but got just Fried Rice which was cheaper than $1.50, but paid for nothing. Too many mistakes. So i try their other store which is this braised chicken. Not only it is expensive, but the quantity and quality cannot make it. Fortunately i only ordered the small size and never upsize as the staff kept asking me to. The whole 115 kopitiam is doom as i officially condemn the whole kopitiam there. The only good thing there are two things. Many seats as no people go there and the cleaning crew is efficient.

Increasing Customers are going back to On-Prem

Haha, its all about marketing lah. The problem is Cloud had its PRO and also its NASTY CONS. It is not easy to manage as it seems. File server is ok, but if you think running web applications with Cloud is good? Wait till you are the guy in charge of the uptime and you will understand that it is a hassle. Coming from AWS environment, it is hell if you need to catch what is causing the downtime exactly. I do hope that it is not a 100% cloud market. On Prem is still OK as the company knows best what to expect.

Finally One UI 6.1.1 comes to my Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5

Yeah, just saw that it comes in on 21 Sept, i last checked on 20 Sept, it was not in yet. However, One UI 6.1.1 is not available yet for my Samsung S24 Ultra. Being said that, whatever they announced the features for Z Fold 6, it is now available on my Z Fold 5 as well. So money is saved again ! Upon updating, it really heat up my Z Fold 5, but after that its ok fortunately. The most significant change is that the new Galaxy AI will appear in your setting and all the AI goodness are there for your usage. Let's see what i can do from now on.

Synology NAS Caused by Power Trip

Sigh, i know the fact in work, we will protect all our equipments due to scheduled Power Maintenance. Although for my own personal NAS which is also operating 24/7, plus HDB did sent me a reminder for this power maintenance, i overlooked ! Hence when i realised the next day on why can't i access my file system, i found out that the Electrical Maintenance had already took place. When power resume, it did not power up. After power cycling twice, fortunately it is able to power up and all my important file system is intact. Phew ! 😵‍💫

Nice Community for children

Had many activites for the children as well as goodies from the tickets. Think it is well worth it and she really enjoy a lot. At least we have tons of milk, plants, peanuts, popcorn and ice cream for the adults too ! 

Nintendo Switch 2 Might Have 2 Built-In Screens !

I mean i really hope this is becoming a fact. Two screens are good and it allows even game information to be there at one glance instead of toggling between menus to see certain information. This will also prevent games to be replicated to other platforms as Nintendo really need to make its hardware and games unique and difficult for others to copy over. I mean as a business point of view, this is a good thing. Not that i don't want Nintendo Games to be playable for my Steam Deck. I am also a Nintendo Fan, but Switch is really outdated and i felt the slowness. So let's pray hard this is going to real !

Fortress Saga | Began on 14 Sep 2024

With games which i retired, now comes the newer games which i had just enrolled. What i like these games is that I don't really need much time to focus but rather tweak some stats and let it run. Hence these are classified as idle games. It is like running RPA robots or AI to let it run according to how you want it to advance. I think this is a fun game except that it got removed from Google Play Store due to some cash items problems with the past players and destroy the reviews till they banned them. But Samsung Store have them 🤣. I'm using both Samsung S24 Ultra and Samsung Z Fold 5, i am also a F2P player so i am not worried for any cash transactions at all. I shall review this probably in a year time or if i ever retired before then.

Mooncake Selection for 2024

Bought the cheap cheap Moon Cake at bottom most pic from Sheng Siong Supermarket. I think i got it at SGD3.40. But actually it is made in Malaysia. Similarly, i bought the Snow Skin Durian Mooncake from JB City Square at RM199. Of course this RM199 include another box, which i give it to my parent and brother. So i think it is worth it lah. Next year, will have a change again 😅

Well, you can say food were okay and nostalgic. But the best reason is still the price. Most people goes there because of the price. Singapore is way too expensive. It is something Singapore need to work on. Thats all.

Toddler is King or Queen 😂

Wah piang, this type of news and the answer is simple. I will definitely not removed the iPad unless he or she is sleepy. Especially in the flight, they really need these entertainment to keep them entertained. On a flight, they will not sit still one. It is tested and proven. As a parent, of course we don't want them to keep looking at the iPad screen or shouting in a public area. So its better to keep them entertain throughout the flight to prevent them from shouting and running over the place. Hence i support this mother's action lah.

Four Season Durians D24 Durian Mooncake recalled !

LOL ! "ALL" and i mean ALL batches of Four Season D24 mini durian mooncakes were recalled over bacteria GG lar. I also bought Mao Shan Wang and Black Thorn Durian Mooncakes but is other brand phew ! Four Season is considered a decent branding. Nowadays quite jialat lah. Pay more maybe to worry less but also might kana. Sigh. Life are getting harder :/

So many activites for the little one and all. You don't really need to buy the tickets, just be there and enjoy ! I am also attending to give the little one to experience every festival possible. Really kudo to the organiser for arranging such fun activities to make it enjoyable.

Syfe launches World First Protected S&P500 Portfolio

Well, US is hit with lots of negative news lately due to it recent Presidential Elections and many problems. Syfe a singapore based investment company launches its first Downside Protected S&P500 portfolio.

As extracted from Edge Singapore, the following is the main gist of the detail. According to Syfe, investors can access various protection levels starting from 3.3% estimated max loss levels while realising gains of up to 12.4% per data as of Sept 4. Well this is actually very first. But then S&P500 is in their highs now.

MRT and Bus Fare Increased By 10 cents from 28 Dec 2024

There it goes ! With my complaint to MRT and receiving a useless reply, encountered delays after delays, still got the cheat to increase fares !! Really give up with Minister of Transport. This is supposed to be the only cheapest form of public transport, but its not cheap ! 

Just being Practical is the way forward

As a guy, i can understand how life is in 2024. Properties, expenses, cost of living and entertainment is no longer affordable moving forward. What government are helping are temporary measures and cannot help people forever. Got to make good use of the resources to survive. Hence as above is one who thinks forward and put up a desperate collabration with another person to purchase a BTO which is considered as the only cheapest option of getting a flat. In order to get BTO, one must be engaged and get a ROM cert once they get the keys. What can i say that this might be one of the fastest way, but if many people adopt this, it will cause social problems. Let's see 🍿

Chanced upon this idle game and it is one of the most popular game in 2024. Maybe or hopefully i can review this game in a year time and become STRONG. 😆 Tested a while, seems that it is quite fun, but legendary gears might take awhile to attain it. Do add me in the game when you see me. Can play together.

Sunshine Shokupan Butter Loaf

Costing at SGD$3.80 per loaf, the slice is indeed thick and very soft. It goes well at its own, but i still goes with either butter or mixture with butter and peanut butter. It had some japanese elements as well and i really like it. The only con is the price which is considered to be quite pricey though. 😔

Little Caesars Pizza | The End in Singapore

Even F&B is not spared for Little Caesars Pizza. I have yet to try this and was recommended by my colleague to try it like for 2 years now. I guess that i shall pay a little visit to Little Caesars Pizza soon. I heard that they were both economical and good. I better try a piece of history before it closes down all remaining outlet.

Morale of the story, don't be so guai lan at any Immigration across the world. Just do your own business and move on. By challenging the immigration officer is a loss loss situation. If you find any mistake or anything, just approach kindly with a open smile even though when they are not smiling. For this case, the malaysian officer have the rights to detain her. Enough said for not complying. A choice had been given, just execute it at another counter. It is more of a learning process for this woman. 😑

Gen Z prefers TouchScreen over Keyboards for Typing

As a Millennials writing this, yeah i can't blame them to prefer typing over touchscreens over keyboards. During our time as a millennials, touchscreen typing used to be very terrible either because of the size of the screen or the sensitivity of the screen. Today, touchscreens are very well optimized and is good to input text easily. However for myself, i indeed prefers typing over keyboards. Keyboards provides a sense of satisfaction and with the feeling, i can sense whether I am typing the correct text. Keyboard is a piece of art for us. Touchscreen is good because one do not have to bring additional tools along. But i also felt that Gen Z tend to prefer using auto correct a lot due to touchscreen texting.

Malaysia Boleh Cai Fan 2024

Haiya, the cai fan at Bugis Junction is getting more and more expensive. Just two ingreidents with rice cost me $6. I came here because Bras Basah Food court is closed for renovation for a few months. No choice and got to source for better places as lunch prices are going out of hands.

Tun Xiang Thomson Plaza

Not my first time having Tun Xiang, but having it at Thomson Plaza for the first time. Had gone to its Northpoint City branch which is clearly better. The hokkien mee at Thomson Plaza is lacking in taste, perhaps to cater to the older crowd maybe? Satay not my choice but my wife, satay is definitely better in other satay specialist places. Just a simple meal took around SGD$28++. Don't think its worth it since it did not secure my taste bud. Sigh, 4/10 DarkMicro points.

Pocket Trading Card Pocket

Latest addition from the Pokemon Company. It will launch on 30th October 2024. With Pokemon Go being so popular, i wonder how far can this go, it could appeared to be competitive, especially for the whales. I believed that other than Pay to Win, there will be skilled players across the world as well. But i think it is a good game to enter. This will also help promote their original physical card trading cards as well.

Sing Dollar might be weakening.

I'm not financially trained. However, i think that it is trying to curb people from bringing money or buying and spending overseas. Not sure whether if it can bring down the cost of living or not. I just hope that it will give us problem especially buying overseas properties. This might make holidays even more expensive.
