Bacha Coffee @ Takashimaya

Came in the afternoon and queue for around 1 hour as there is limited seats available at the Takashimaya departmental store area. As some of the items wasn't available, we ordered one pot of Royal Pistachio Coffee - SGD$10, one pot of Elephant Queen Coffee - SGD$10, one Almond Croissant and one Raspberry & Cinnamon Croissant - SGD$8. So we were given a bowl of its signature vanilla bean Chantilly cream and one caramelized sauce (cant remember). Coffee indeed have lots of different variants and most of these coffee were heavy in taste. Nice place to chill, thats why the waiting time is so LONG.

Xiao Mei Ban Mian @ 892C Woodlands Drive

Was kind of convinced by one blog review on this Xiao Mei Ban Mian located at 892C Woodlands Drive. Honest review here that it is a very normal bowl of Ban Mian. So I ordered the Pork Belly Dry You Mian, Mee Hoon Kueh, dumping soup and fried Gyoza. Total Damage is SGD$13.10. Both the soup and dry sauce is more towards the bland side. Fried Gyoza was probably better than the rest. Hence, if you are hungry, this is all right. Not as crazy as what the blogger recommended.

Limited Edition Starshine Coca-Cola Zero Sugar

Had been finding since the two days after release and finally found them in the 7-Eleven at Canberra Plaza. Got it 2 cans for SGD$3.50 which is standard kopitiam price if you drink there. Colour is abit like cherry red. Taste wise, i personally felt like sour plum in a coke. Probably that is the closest i can link the taste with. It will be out for sale for a limited time. But if you personally asked me whether I will pick this drink with my chicken wings, I will still chose Coke Light.

Tea Light Holder from Alexandra IKEA

Bought this Tea Light Holder or rather I think to call it a lamp. Creates a nice candle-like feeling to have coffee or tea during the afternoon or night. Its only SGD$6.90 and the tea candle is available at many places based on your own scent preference. Definitely it is safe, but do handle with cautious and try to put it in a safe place and avoid placing combustible items away from this.

IKEA Grono Light @ Alexandra

Bought this Grono Light for SGD$14.90. As one of my ceiling fan light got burst, not sure why, but the fan function is still working. Asked third party light shop and they did not have the necessary parts to replace the fan light. They actually advised to go back to Fan manufacturer to see if they can repair for a fee and replacement part. The thing is this fan already lasted for 5 years coming to 6th and the light no longer function. Hence I am waiting for the fan to stop functioning before I get it replaced. Meanwhile, I chanced upon a light in IKEA which is not only affordable, but is kinda bright as well. It really does the work and I shall use this for some time.

New Sheik Roti Prata Store @ 120 Canberra Crescent

Its been a while that the kopitiam near my place is back with a Roti Prata Store ! I used to support a lot for the previous Roti Prata store three years ago. It was then relocated due to the Kopitiam Landlord raised the rent. Sadly, this store had been switching hands from Thai food, from vietnam food and now after another two years later, another Roti Prata store owner had returned to this space. So I immediately went to support my first plate of Roti Prata from them. The egg prata and fish curry fortunately was good and they are open to feedback and take the feedback seriously. For example, the first batches, the fish curry were very thick. After most residents had feedbacked to him, they made the fish curry more liquid and smooth. It is good by my standard and hope more people will support him ! 

328 Katong Laksa @ Queensway Shopping Centre

Was around the area at Queensway Shopping Centre. Queensway Shopping Centre had always been a eating place for Laksa like this. Over there, you will find several Katong Laksa and of course this is one of them and it is 328 Katong Laksa. I also ate from 51 East Coast Road and the other location in East Coast since they moved to different places some time back. Not sure if there is quality control, but in the past, I remembered trying 328 Katong Laksa @ Katong, it is the best bowl of laksa, but that is one decade ago. 328 Katong Laksa certainly lose quite abit to Janggut Laksa which is also at Queensway Shopping Centre. The soup base flavor is not so thick as last time, furthermore the price also went up in today's standard. However still good enough for the average tourist to try it.

Jollibean Ice Horlicks Soy Drink @ Bugis Junction

Jollibean Ice Horlicks Soy Drink is definitely something I will recommend for Horlicks fans. I like Horlicks and I hope they could do more and introduce newer products for the younger generations. To my childhood days, Horlick had always been a luxury drink to me. So back to Jollibean, they have a few variants for this drink, but i opt for the Ice Horlicks Soy priced at SGD$3.50. Think only have one size, if not, I will generally get the biggest size possible. Do give it a try as i think this is not a permanent drink menu and more of a limited time collaboration with Horlicks.

Chic-A-Boo Chicken Specialty at Woods Square

There are a total of six Chic-A-Boo outlets in Singapore as of this time of writing. You can find them at City Square Mall, ESR BizPark @ Chai Chee, Marina Square, Sembawang Shopping Centre, SingPost Centre and Woods Square. Woods Square is probably the latest outlet at the hearts of Woodlands. If i recalled many years back at Chai Chee, Chic-A-Boo used to be more like a fast food chain and I don't think it was served with plate last time. As they listed the outlet as a Chicken Specialty, i think it is more of operating in between a fast-food and restaurant. But i doubt anyone cares about this and rather focus on the food. 😊 I like how their set meals can be customized with different main dish and different side dishes. Quite similar to Astons actually. So what i had ordered here is the 3 pcs Chicken Set with selection of Corn Niblets and Curly Fries. The portion is quite good and the chicken is not bad. Probably I give a 7/10 for this. Did you know that they have 12 different side dishes you can choose from? Do visit and try it for yourself.

2nd Visit to Huggs Coffee @ Thomson Plaza

I am back again at Huggs Coffee at Thomson Plaza. You can see my previous visit. This time, I ordered their Traditional Kopi Peng and Latte Gula. Do remember to sign up or scan your rewards QR code whenever you visit the Huggs Coffee. They had other outlets with other themes as well. For this outlet, you can utilize the 5 points to visit the VIP Lounge for a quiet experience there. Although the traditional Kopi Peng can be bought at any local kopitiam, do give it a try for their traditional kopi peng. Really a good cup of coffee. Latte Gula is good if you like Gula Melaka in your latte. They really did a good job in the latte art as well.

Seoul Kitchen near Chong Pang

Seoul Kitchen is a local family-style korean restaurant. The owner is a korean so it is korean food you can trust ! Its located at 435 Sembawang Rd, Singapore 758398. Went there to have a dinner. Price is buffet price and ala-carte menu. It is extremely affordable given with its price and its authentic Korean quality. For sure, you will be full as there is also ice-cream after a meaty meal there. It has a time limit and for those who can really eat, you will definitely be full ! They also have cooked fried chicken but its abit more to the saltier side. Its not near to the MRT, but I think is a good place to chill with tons of meat.

Joyful Seafood at Canberra Crescent

Joyful Seafood have a few branches opened across Singapore. Located in a kopitiam, usually people don't really remember the name of the shop but classified these stores as "Zi Char" store. As they had a Fish Head Set and also a crab set. I chose to go for the Fish Head Set for $58 for two pax. After trying it, i think this set is enough for 2 to 3 people. I like how they provide multiple selection for choices for people to choose for their set. For a set that is $58 only, I'm not going to expect much of the ingredients as well. First thing first, the Fish Head Steamboat have not much meat as it is fish head, but soup and vegetables is plentiful in the broth. The broth is ok and good to go with rice. The fried egg is ok, have a little bit of wok hei that goes with your rice. Sweet and Sour Pork is all right too, feel that the meat portion is good. Chilli Kang Kong unfortunately need some work as some stems were not cooked well and the flavor not fully infuse with the dish. Prawn is surprisingly BIG and have lots of meat, again, wished that sauce is more heavy in the flavoring. Overall, it is a decent meal and definitely filled up your stomach. Will suggest to go for Curry Fish as the fish head steamboat's fish meat really too little.

Likely decided to place my bet on Norton 360 Premium

My Kaspersky Internet Security is expiring exactly in 29 days time. As the title goes, I will likely place my bet on Norton 360 Premium as part of my cybersecurity protection for my main PC that is largely used for financial transactions, accessing bank accounts and important data storage. The rest of my other devices are for staging and general purposes, hence a simple Windows Defender will be sufficient. Weighing all the other Internet Security softwares, I think Norton will be quite good and I felt that my hardware will be able to handle multiple security tasks as well as not to affect my computing performance. For now, I will be focusing on migrating Kaspersky Internet Security to Norton 360 Premium in probably two weeks time. Decided to get one corporate license for three years of protection and probably provide a general overview once i fully migrate to the new software.

KOI The at Tang Plaza

On a hot and humid day, we decided to sit down at Koi The, a bubble tea chain in Singapore. There is island bar seat, so we order Iced Ovaltine with Ice-Cream. Suggest to request for less ice, as we got too much ice in it. Usually when we order via the machine, we will tend to put in less ice. But since we ordered too fast over the counter, too bad lor. In my opinion, Koi had the best ovaltine based drink as compared to others. Mixed together with their ice-cream will be the perfect combination. It became the Mr Coconut shake except that this is Ovaltine shake. Good place to relax and enjoy your drink there but the seat is limited.

海南美味佳肴 Hainanese Delicacy at Far East Plaza

Ordered the Half Chicken (Roasted) with two plate of rices and drinks. When there is chicken rice recommendation, someone always mentioned about this. The place is always crowded with diners especially weekends. Usually you will have to queue for awhile and they will match you with other diners to dine at the same table. While queuing, they will take your order and prepare the food in advance. So when it is your turn to be seated, they will serve your order in no time. To me, thats a pro, but it can be a con as well depends on the situation. Rice and soup were quite ok, however both the chicken and sauce doesn't really taste the way we expect. Of course, it really depends on each individual's preference. But for myself, i will give the overall score of 6/10. Do try it and comment below. 

llaoglass By llaollao @ Bugis Junction

Used to like llaollao before when its closed massively previously and now slowly opening more and more branches back. Anyway, my wife had been hunting for this llaoglass for a few months and they were always out of stock in many branches. Actually this is just llaollao's frozen yogurt with two toppings. The only exception was that you get to bring the unique llaollao glass pot home. Well thats it. 😅 Personally I like its frozen yogurt with M&M and White Chocolate. I think this is the best combination.

Caramel Corn - One of the best snacks in Japan

Apparently, this japanese snack is really popular in Singapore. Most people get this from Daiso at $2. But ever since Daiso raised its price for all their items, getting bulk of these snacks will cost a higher price than before. However, not to worry. You can still get this same snack from Don Don Donki at $2 ! The smaller packet one does not have peanuts, but this bigger packet have peanuts. However the peanuts were not so nice. The caramel corn itself is the main highlight. I like the corn texture and crunch. Sweetness is just right. Just the right snack to munch, sit back on the sofa and watch Killer's game. 😋

Koka Purple Wheat Noodles - Aglio Olio Flavor

One of healthier choice of instant noodles whenever I need to make a quick meal. Aglio Olio Flavor is one of the better choice for my Koka Purple Wheat Noodles. Add additional egg, ham slices or sausage will be a much fulfilling meal. So what is Aglio Olio? Aglio Olio is actually spaghetti with garlic and oil. So i recommend this as it is easy to cook. Just boil the noodles, all your seasoning on a empty bowl. Drain the water and place the noodle into the bowl and stir it. In fact, 3 minutes is all you need. It taste good despite being healthy.

Maggi Mi Goreng with Chilli Kampung

Personally, IndoMie Instant Noodles had been dominating for decades for its Mi Goreng. I used to buy and carry one carton of IndoMie from Batam. Nowdays there are many brands of their own version of Mi Goreng. Today I am trying Mi Goreng with Chilli Kampung from Maggi. Talking about Maggi Instant Noodles, reminds me during 1993 or 1994, we were taught how to cook instant noodle in my primary school and that was when I am in Primary 1 or 2. Nowdays I wonder what the new Gen are learning at that age in school. Back to this review, I felt that this Maggi Mi Goreng is not that bad except for its portion. I am having two packets of noodles for my lunch. The overall sauce and seasoning of this Mi Goreng is great. Special mention is to the Bawang Goreng which is crispy and fragrance. The texture of the Bawang really help bring up the taste for the instant Mi Goreng !

Ocean Health Sleep Support Supplement

Something or rather lately, it had been hard to fall asleep. I felt it could be due to stress most of the times. I had been thinking for quite some time on whether is there some kind of secret formula that can help to make me sleep better. Henceforth I chanced upon this product at our local pharmacy store. There were many different brands of supplement that can help in this area. However, Ocean Health had the most cost effective in terms of pricing compared to the other brands. Personally, Ocean Health had quite the number of products across Singapore, therefore I think it is trustable. For a start, I took one tablet and try sleeping. It really make you tired after half an hour later. BUT i realised that I tend to wake up multiple times through the night, but felt very tired and continued sleeping again. Not sure whether the time release melatonin is really a right choice, but I tested a few nights, it kept me waking a few times through the night. The only thing is you feel very tired through the nights. Probably maybe it is due to my body and i guess it might be different for others. However, my wife also tried and had the same symptom as me. 😐

Inflation is affecting most of what we consume day to day

SINGAPORE: Singapore’s core inflation rose to a 10-year high of 2.9 per cent year-on-year in March, up from 2.2 per cent in February, official data released on Monday (Apr 25) showed. The last time core inflation was at 2.9 per cent year-on-year was in March 2012. The increase was driven by higher inflation for food and services, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) said in a joint release. CNA Source

So last week, I was dining at a local kopitiam and ordered a drink to go along with my Mee Hoon Kuay. Actually different kopitiam have different drinks' price, so I personally knew that the rate of a typical can drink is around $1.20 ~ $1.60. However, I was shocked that one of the kopitiam i went for dinner is charging the same can of F&N Grape for $1.80 ! 😕 It is a whopping 12.5% increase ! My salary is not even increasing by the 3% mark. 😓 This is bad, really bad. Apparently, many people were secretly working multiple jobs. Similarly, I also forcing myself to do something. With the GST going up in the year to come, i guess only then most people will feel it.

Long John Silver's Golden Deal's Dory Set

So what i had here is the Long John Silver's Golden Deal's Dory Set which consists of 2pc Dory, served with fries and Coca-Cola Zero Sugar. So I swapped out the fries for the sweet corn. They also had the regular fish set, but not sure what fish they used for that. So far, this Dory fish is not bad. Taste "abit" premium than the regular fish. LJS had been longstanding here and I personally like LJS. Hope they will stay strong in Singapore !

Fukudon @ 84 Marine Parade Central Market and Food Centre

So my colleague recommended me to try this, Fukudon which is located at 84 Marine Parade Central Market and Food Centre. The hawker centre beside Parkway Parade. It sells mainly Asian Fusion DonBuri which is rice bowl. I ordered Pork Belly Katsu Don and my colleague ordered the Chicken Oyakodon. Since my colleague recommended this, its pretty obvious that he gave quite a high rating on his bowl. As a first timer here, the pork belly katsu don is impressive. Overall i gave a 7.5 rating due to the Pork Belly taste wins my heart mainly. I guess is the cut which balanced the overall taste and texture of the Pork Belly. Together with the rest of the ingredients, I finished up the bowl in like 2 minutes. 😬 Just want to say that probably the other dishes on the menu might be good too. I will probably dropped by again to try the other rice bowl 👍

New Jjang! Jjang! Burger from McDonald Singapore

Yeah this is the latest Jjang! Jjang! Burger released yesterday by McDonald Singapore. Basically I tried the Jjang! Jjang! Chicken Burger Set with fries and Yuzu McFizz. This will be available from 05 May 2022 to 31 May 2022. Fries is pretty standard and Yuzu McFizz is probably one of the best special drink so far. The crispy-battered chicken thigh is good, but the unique sweet and spicy Korean sauce just isn't balanced. It tasted more on the sweeter side. I didn't taste or sense the spicyness in the marinade. Hence overall, i felt that the burger is rated as 5/10 based on my preference. However do try it out as it varies for every individual.

Trying JUST 2 Dishes @ Putien CauseWay Point

Normally when we goes to restaurants, we will order a couple more dishes. However, since we are not hungry and just want to find Oyster dishes. We think of Putien. So we decided to get 2 oysters dishes using Putien's 2 for $29. After the GST and Service Charge, it is around $30 odd dollars. Haha, the good part that we enjoyed at Putien is the good service ! Similar with Hai Di Lao, their service is superb. Although they did asked whether we want to go with rice or some dishes, but they asked politely and no hard selling 😆 Down to the food, the Putien Crispy Oyster is the imba dish which i rated as 7.5/10 and the Seaweed Oyster with Fried Egg (6/10) was well cooked and blended with its ingredients. It actually do fill you up without carbo. I think it served well and can be considered as a snack or appetizer. You can check out my other post on Putien.

Visiting back Rail Corridor when everyone is out of the way

Sometime back, during the lockdown, there were tons of people crowding this area. Choosing a time to come here when there is not a single soul there now. Appreciating the old Railway tracks and pathway towards the other end of Bukit Timah. Realized that there are many good restaurants and cafes opposite at the rail mall. Also saw some minor developments at this area and hope it can be accessible throughout the island.

Sunny Choice Vegetarian Restaurant @ The Rail Mall

In terms of vegetarian meal, I usually have not much expectation of the food. Because healthy food are always bland. BUT NOT HERE ! Maybe i list out the cons first. As dessert had a 50% discount, so I just ordered and tried Sago Gula Melaka (Original - $4, discount at $2) and Cold Peach Jelly (Original - $5, discount at $2.50). Both desserts were extremely normal. Probably between 4.5/10. Thunder Tea Rice (9.50) is decent at 5.5/10. However, the Bak Kut Teh Rice dish ($8.50) is the hidden potential unlocked ! One spoon of the BKT Soup immediately give you a 9/10 standard. They had many other vegetarian dishes which I will explore more on my next visit. But for sure every visit, I will order an additional bowl of BKT Soup to add on to whatever I am going to try. It is just mind blowing coming from the BKT made of Vegetables ! 

Katong Mei Wei Chicken Rice

 Not sure whether this is the authentic one. But if i recalled correctly since I was living at Marine Parade Area from 1993 to 2017 (24 years), i remembered this stall were not like this at Katong Shopping Centre. So after almost 5 years later when I moved out from 2017, i hardly come back to this area for my food hunt. Thought that I should make a trip back here since I am working nearby with my colleague. The first look is quite shocking, it had been modernized ! Looking at the menu, I ordered the Steamed Chicken Rice [Upsize] for $8.50. Katong Chicken Rice at Katong Shopping centre, the same stall space had always had its archar served together. Well, I felt that Archar is abit dry, i was thinking that previously there were some kinda sauce which is well blended, but what I got is dry cucumber, pineapple and others. Chicken portion for $8.50 is quite good, but chicken is not as tender as before. The lotus soup was surprisingly good though. The rice is all right. Overall, i think is a 6.5/10 plate of chicken rice.

Random Food from Sembawang Hill Hawker Center

Gotten the black Kopi O Kosong from one of the drink stall and really enjoy it. $0.90 a cup of black coffee is really cheap nowadays. I think there is only one carrot cake store opened as i saw a couple of stalls were closed. So we ordered a plate of Black and White Fried Carrot Cake as our Appetizer. It was surprisingly all right, especially for the black one. The Yam rice with Mixed Pig soup was abit fall off the average mark. Chwee kueh was normal, the chai po was not very good though. Lastly, I tried the Katong Laksa, this was the bigger portion, but sadly was still considered small portion. Taste was quite bland and wish it was thick and flavorful. Hope that when i come back here some time later, the quality will be better :( But it is a nice place with not much people around. Thats probably the Plus point of eating there.

Nyonya memories by Ivins @ Thomson Plaza

If you like to try Nyonya dishes and if you preferred heavy in taste, this is one of the places you will need to try. The flavour of the main dishes were very heavy in taste. Both the Lontong and Mee siam definitely worth every penny you paid for. Ingredients were very generous as well for the price paid for. Nyonya Mee Siam cost $6.90, Nyonya Lontong cost $6.90, Pulot Hitam cost $2.50 and the Nyonya Chendol cost $3. Overall damage is $20.65. The shop is also cosy and service was quick. They still had plenty of other Nyonya dishes worth trying for. My next visit will be trying the meat dishes with rice :)

Starbucks Newly and Tested Vacation-Themed Summer Beverages @ Woodlands MRT Station

So when Starbuck takes the effort to release new drinks, I will always be there to test it 😈 So I find my self a seat and start placing my order via the Mobile App. I ordered the "Mango on the Beach Frappuccino" and "Seaside Macadamia White Chocolate Frappuccino". According to Starbucks, the "Mango on the Beach Frappuccino" is made by blending fresh mango sauce blended with milk and ice. On the top of the drink, there is mango jelly chunks. Not that bad and the combination is indeed refreshing. As for the "Seaside Macadamia White Chocolate Frappuccino", it contains white chocolate macadamia slush, poured over a colourful swirl of blueberry syrup. I think the crushed graham crackers complete the drink and made it enjoyable. It creates the texture as if there is sea salt in it. Best of all, when I ordered the drink, it includes the free vacation-theme reusable straw.

Eggciting | Affordable Korean-Style Toast With Pork Shabu And Lu Rou Fan @ Canberra

This is my second visit after a while and ordered the Premium Korean Toast and one Basic Korean Toast after a short morning run. Address of this place is at 115 Canberra Walk, #01-03, Singapore 750115, which is very close to where i live. It is operating at a kopitiam. This is quite ok for those who are craving for morning toast, this is certainly a good choice and better than those traditional bread and egg breakfast. So for the Basic Korean Toast, my wife ordered the Tuna, while i ordered the Bacon from the Premium Korean Toast. Tuna is all right, though it take a bit of effort to find the tuna. To be frank, the bacon tasted like using those cheaper option ones in the local supermarket. I wished it would be more salter. Similarly for the eggs, since there is no salt and pepper around, the egg is rather bland and does not have much favor. As for the price, the premium toast do felt abit steep and the basic korean toast is just about right. Hopefully they can improve the next time i visit again 

McCafe Cappuccino from Mcdonald

I felt that McCafe Barista can also train on their latte art for every order of the hot drink. But this is more of using the chocolate to draw out the shape. So I had this random morning for a quick meal. I got this design which I think is just a sophisticated $ sign. But I was wrong. My wife told me that this is a brand. Upon research, it is YSL, also known as Saint Laurent, is a French luxury fashion house founded by Yves Saint Laurent and his partner. So I am thinking probably the Barista is currently obsessed with this bag brand till it landed on the customer's drink. 😅

Kaspersky Internet Security - To change or renew?

Having used Kaspersky Internet Security for 2 x 2 years license (Total: 4 years) of usage. It had not been giving me much issues on software conflict or incompatibility problems for the browser. Before using this,  I was using Norton and AVG. There were some performance issues in the past, but i supposed could be due to hardware issue too. Currently my Kaspersky Internet Security license is ending in 2 months time. Hence it is time for me to plan on something else. As most people know that Kaspersky is a Russia company, not sure whether my service might be affected or not. Might consider for Norton AntiVirus Plus or Trend Micro Antivirus+ Security next. Meanwhile got to find out more of the pro and cons of it.

Koufu in JEM Suddenly Closing Down by End of April 2022, Surprising Many Stallholders.

Han Kook Kitchen which is located in Koufu Food Court at JEM will soon be relocated to Junction 8 Food Court as AmateurCraft went to ask the korean owner of Han Kook Kitchen. In terms of BBQ Pork, they had been one of the best Authentic Korean Cuisine. I had went over to try for the last time before they relocate to Junction 8 Bishan. Some might or might not like it, but their meat are marinated very well. Each piece of meat is heavy in taste and definitely goes well with the steamed rice. Other dishes like the Kim Chi Soup is also recommended. Do support them !

Sold off one of my favourite Nintendo 3DS XL Pikachu Edition Console

Just sold off my good old Nintendo 3DS XL Pikachu Edition before the value goes to less than $50. Nintendo had already announced that both online storefronts will cease operation in March 2023. Meaning that the online eShop will be closed for all Nintendo 3DS XL consoles. After March 2023, all 3DS gamers will not be able to purchase or download any online eshop app or games. The only thing that 3DS can do is play the existing downloaded games or physcial disc games. I still have one more New Nintendo 3DS XL to play 3DS games. But I guess will be selling off as well, if not will keep it. Before Nintendo Switch was released, Nintendo 3DS XL was very popular. The current Nintendo Switch that i had from the first Gen and bought it from Day 1 is already 5 years old. Time really flies and it also proved that both Nintendo 3DS XL and Nintendo Switch hardware were quite good and lasting.

Lao Jiang Superior Soup 老江一品汤 @ JCUBE

As we got attracted by the packet of chicken essence, we thought that the soup will be rich of goodness and taste. We are also in the area of Jurong East for some errands. Saw Lao Jiang Superior Soup 老江一品汤 at Oasis Terrace and opposite Beauty World a couple of times and we really want to try it one day. So over at JCUBE, we finally had the chance to dine in. In terms of customer service, the staff were not so helpful, but who cares. So we ordered Chicken Soup + Essence of Chicken with Rice ($15.80), Signature Superior Soup with Dry You Mian ($11.80) and one dessert Collagen Peach Gum ($5). Total damage was $32.60. Unfortunately both of the main dishes were quite disappointing. The taste were not that flavorful and it is quite bland. Signature Superior Soup with Dry You Mian, the Dry You Mian is of equal standard as those in the coffee shop, while the bulk of the money went into the ingredients, but the soup was not that good. Well, I am not sure whether if it is because we went there right in the late morning where we are the first customer when they are open or it is rather a branch quality issue. Guess another way to confirm is to visit the other branches to confirm this. Sigh 😑

Damasara Chilli Pan Mee at Malaysia Boleh Jurong Point

Damasara Chilli Pan Mee from Malaysia Boleh is certainly one of my favourite choice for a simple lunch or dinner. They are using Malaysian ban mian which is often served dry unlike the soupy ones. The noodles goes well with the mix of ingredients (minced pork, stewed Chinese mushrooms, spinach, ikan bilis, and a runny poached egg). I also added an additional Fried Tau Kee in the bowl. Certainly must try !

Mos Burger - Teriyaki Burger with Chicken MOS Set

To be frank, we are really fortunate to have a Japanese Fast Food Chain, MOS Burger in Singapore. I remembered having MOS Burger at their Tokyo Chain, the food were really well prepared, but slightly more expensive. However as compared to the good old days, MOS Burger in Singapore had also underwent some changes and had since increased most of their prices as well. However, my order is still the same. Teriyaki Chicken Burger with MOS Chicken Set. Drink is definitely Iced Milk Tea and specially requested for more milk. Although the Teriyaki Chicken Burger is about the same size as the Mcdonald's McChicken Burger, but the overall favor of the Teriyaki Burger is very satisfying. Being a fan of mayonnaise, MOS Burger's mayonnaise is so much better than other fast food chain. I also loved the Fried Chicken which 95% of the time, tender and juicy. Don't need to worry about the portion as it is very standardized. Iced Milk Tea somehow is one of the best Iced Milk Tea i ever drank. Possibly the number 1 Iced Milk Tea in my list. 

BlackBall Express @ AMK Hub

Just realized that BlackBall and BlackBall Express have different menu. While trying to "Tabao" something from the main menu as requested by my wife. As the BlackBall Express doesn't have the Taro Iced, therefore have to "tabao" something from their Express menu. We had here the BlackBall Signature - Grass Jelly Shaved Iced and Wintermelon Shaved Ice. Just nice that there is a promotion where I could get 2 for SGD$9.90. Initially I do not have high hope on this as I don't really order much from BlackBall, but my wife love it. Upon trying the Grass Jelly Shaved Iced, its pretty good, especially after adding the milk to it. Think the only difference for BlackBall Express is the menu and there is no place to eat on-site.

Renoma Set to Coach Set - Does it make a difference?

Just a random post where I change my Renoma Set to Coach Set, because my Renoma Card Case had fallen after just one year of usage. When I tell the salesperson that even when previously I used the braun buffel wallet and coin case, it broke down after 2 years of usage. The salesperson just said that this is wear and tear and is expected. Previously when I went to those repair wallet and shoe services centre, they also said is beyond repair and cannot fix. So from then, I felt that it is a waste of money.. I downgrade to Renoma and it lasted for a year. Wallet is ok, but not the card case. Let's see long Coach Set will last me. This post as the proof ! 😏

Most Second-Hand devices going to get this Watermark if you are running Windows 11

Starting from Windows 11, looks like most old PCs are going to encountered this watermark while running Windows 11. As controversial hardware requirements goes, Windows 11 were only officially supports Intel 8th Gen Coffee Lake or Zen+ and Zen 2 CPUs and above, leaving millions of PCs behind. Anyone that has used the workaround will now start to see this warning in Windows 11. It will suck badly when certain hardware is unable to work on Windows 11. With this, it shows that my planned procurement of second hand gen 6 i7-6700 HP EliteDesk G2 is off. My plan was to set up a legit Ubuntu Desktop Lab station instead of relying on VMWare. I guess I got to start building one DIY Intel Gen 12 i5-12400 build now so as to carry out my Ubuntu and Windows 11 Training soon. 

Newly Built Budget Desktop for Lab Work & Research

Main reason of building myself is the flexibility to troubleshoot and add-ON to additional parts. I had scrimp and cut as much cost for certain components to come up with such specs. Not going to list down the individual components which I get separately from multiple retailers as well as using from its original stock parts as possible. I had tired of using VMWare to run my Ubuntu and Windows 11 Pro. So building one and installing the actual OS makes a whole world of difference. The specs are as follows:

Initially was considering Dell Inspiron Compact Desktop. Considering the corporate discount with my company with Dell still could not beat the price I negotiate with Dell Sales directly. Best they could go down with the latest specs is SGD$850. However, the issue was they are not able to add additional NVMe SSD to the CPU. So it is quite pointless as I am planning to dual boot Windows 11 Pro and Ubuntu directly.

Burger King SunDae & Hershey's Pie @ Sembawang Shopping Center

Had a mini dessert at Burger King while waiting for my shuttle bus to bring me back to my home. Personally, I had been a long fan of Burger King's Sundae and Hershey's Pie. Just that I do not eat them that often. The Sundae both Chocolate and Strawberry were brilliant, although i still preferred the Strawberry one. As for the Hershey's Pie, i think there is a discount for 2 at $4 and I would gladly recommend to all to try. It is really good and sometimes better than those dessert store in some cafes.

Yeah on a side note, today had surpassed 200 subscribers on Youtube ☺☺

Nine Fresh Chrysanthemum Ai-Yu Set A Dessert

I really enjoyed the Chrysanthemum Ai-Yu (Set 𝐀), which comes with honey popping jelly, grape pearl jelly, and taro balls. Of course, whenever I am buying something at Nine Fresh, I will always get the Earl Grey Milk Tea as well. Look out for my previous Nine Fresh Drink. 😋 Unfortunately, the Chrysanthemum Ai-Yu is not a permanent menu and will occasionally appears at different seasons. But I personally will recommend anyone to try the Chrysanthemum Ai-Yu (Set 𝐀) as it is simply one of the best selections in Nine Fresh !

Pizza Hut $0.99 Regular Pizza Deal

Tried to order the additional pizza for $0.99 and the deal is real ! However, you will need to spend $15 minimum in order to enjoy this deal. So I ordered a Sharing Box at $16.50 and added my Stuff Crust addition on the pizza. Overall damage + $4.50 Delivery charge because I am lazy is $28.49. Pizza Hut Stuff Crust is still my favourite, while my wife preferred thin crust.

So i think it worth it. The $0.99 is regular pizza and not the pan sized. Personally, i think Pizza Hut's pizza still maintained a proper standard. So from this deal, it covered two meals for both of us.

Newly Opened Ramen King [Second Outlet] @ Canberra Plaza

 

Visited the newly opened Ramen King on 10 March 2022 at Canberra Plaza. This is their second outlet and it is the first day of business at the Canberra Plaza branch. My wife ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen Regular with special request to make it with Miso Soup with addon of Corn. I ordered the Char-Siu Spicy Miso Ramen Large. We also ordered additional Gyoza (Dumplings) 5 pcs. Overall damage is $25. They don't charge GST and Service Charge on the receipt. I think all the large portion will have 5 pieces of char-siu slice. All right, honest comment is both bowls are decent, but i hope they can make it more heavy in taste. That would certainly bring up the standard. Abit lighter than usual. Gyoza was ok only. So in terms of rating in overall taste, price and quantity, I will give it a 5.5/10.
